Why did we rate this "Confirmed"? Because multiple sources off the internet sites have experienced paranormal activity at this location & therefore warrants a rating of "Confirmed".

What's the tale? The Peabody-Whitehead Mansion located on "Millionaires Row" was home to both Governor James Peabody and William Riddick Whitehead. Dr. Whitehead was a battlefield surgeon during the Russian Crimean War and the American Civil War. The spirits within the home are not known but their presence is. Even today it is home to falling objects, objects being tampered with and temperature extremes.

What do we know as fact? Thanks to this site we know Doctor William Riddick Whitehead built the beautiful mansion and was a primary residence for himself and his family. He was a surgeon during the Crimean War and American Civil War. He was the attended the Confederate General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson shortly before he died from complications of pneumonia. The home evetually became the governor's mansion and governor James Peabody lived in the mansion during his two year term. From there is became apartments, then restaurants, nightclubs and the home has recently been rennovated.

Thoughts: There's a lot of documented cases of paranormal activity from the residents, employees and visitors of the mansion in many of its forms over the years. There is a host of ghosts and/or spirits residing in multiple locations in the house.
