Haunted Houses - Pu'ukohola Heiau
Why did we rate this "Confirmed"? Because multiple sources off the
internet sites have experienced paranormal activity at this location
& therefore warrants a rating of "Confirmed".
What's the tale? It is the sacred site that receives its spiritual power from the natural spring at the base of the hill. In order to become king of all the islands in Hawaii Cheiftain Kamehamha built a temple in honor of the war god Ku and made the necessary ceremonies and human sacrifices. The temple is heavily haunted by those human sacrifices.
What do we know as fact? Thanks to this site we know that Heiau were multiple temples built across the Hawaiian Islands but most fell to ruin or destruction after the kapu system ended in 1819. The Heiau were built so priests could communicate with the gods and advise the chief on multiple matters. The Pu'ukohola Heiau was erected expressly for ceremonies related to war. It is known this Heiau was a location of human sacrifice.
Thoughts: Obviously a temple used for such purpose and with such ceremony is going to have a great deal of residual energy and of all the humans sacrificed within the temple it is very likely one or more would manifest in ghost or spirit form.
