Yeah you are right. Many years ago when I was "on the road" in the 1960s traveling thru Sequoyah and the Cookson Hills of Oklahoma I met E W Floyd Charles Alt "Pretty Boy" Floyd's brother - talked wiht him in a "road house" and he said that "in those days it was a war between the rich bankers and land-buyers and the poor and out-of-work people'.
SO this backs up what you just wrote.
