Mix a shot of brandy, a squeezed in fat lemon slice, and a heaped teaspoon of honey all in boiled water to sip right before going to bed when you are sick - the alcohol will help you sweat out the cold during the night.

There are 2 that I discovered recently that I have yet to try. Heat a spoon and press it on a mosquito bite and the pain is supposed to go away. Also you take 6 earl grey tea bags and brew them in water. Then soak a towel in it and apply to a sunburn. It should turn it into a tan and take away the pain.

Bumping this for anyone having trouble with insect bites..Syri wrote:Chewing up plantain weed (or using plantain salve) and applying it to spider bites and other insect bites helps alleviate flare ups and speeds healing. 85% of our yard is plantain weed. I could hook you ALL up! :lol:
I have heard of people applying it to where they had a recluse bite and it helped prevent the flesh rot.

an epsom salt bath does wonders for brown recluse bites. Got them nasty buggers in my house. Been bit enough, they don't do much more than annoy most times. Can't use Epsom salt, allergic to it (go figure) so I used either raw bacon fat or raw potato peel if the recluse got in a good bite. Started using plantain for skeeter bites and gnats which we have here in abundance LOL

Not quite natural, but a little dab of polysporin cream for acne - I swear by it
And of course, salt water rinse 1 or 2 times a day for canker sores, esp better at night though!
