Maybe everything doesn't need to be C5T3 after all. 1am

Well... let me first say that spirits are not a new thing for me. Here's a picture I took in the forest:

but I've had some backoff on djinn. I bought a ring from a fella on and it came with big warnings about how I had to fast for a day and not to ever give it human blood, a thought that I had never occurred to me. My googling how to deal with that led me to CH, but I've never really touched that ring since.

I don't like being afraid and I do things to overcome those fears. I'm probably never going to jump out of a helicopter into a forest fire, or ride the rapids down the Amazon but within reason....

I bought a safety net, the Conjure Your Own Spirit binding, because Ash and Mags take some precautions and I didn't want to get in trouble.

I followed the directions and it did not seem like anything happened. I didn't feel afraid but there were no fireworks and it wasn't obvious to me, as it is when beings choose to present themselves to me when I'm in the forest, or when I've asked for a custom conjure from CH. I was having second thoughts about my abilities, the nature of reality, blah blah blah. I did get a sense of a name, but not the sit-in-your-lap communication I needed for reassurance. Even my dark arts creatures are good about speaking when they're spoken to, sometimes too much. But again, they've already "volunteered" so there's a relationship established from the beginning. Here I was at the step before that and not sure of myself. So I just thought the thought "Let me know when you are ready, send me a sign." I was expecting shadows out the corner of my eye or rainbow sparkles from crystals or some such.

Clearly, my obtuseness was not well received! I didn't expect smoke signals. But now it seems like we are more in communication and it will grow. I didn't call a specific race of djinn, I just used the WA code words and trusted that the correct one would appear.

I'm sure I'll do better next time.
