My most recent custom from CH was for a Thunder Bird.

Thunder Birds are an iconic part of the cultural history of many North American indigenous tribes. As I was growing up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, I would often go to my "secret rock" on a mountain near my home, and every now and then a great shadow would block out the sun, and I would hear a "flapping" sound and feel a breeze brush my skin and hair. When I looked up, there was never a cloud in the sky.

More recently, I've seen the shadow of a very large bird move over my car as I drove down the road. I've come to know that those are usually warnings to keep alert in the traffic, so I slow down and become more vigilant. More times than not, I discover that had I not been careful, I would quite possibly have been involved in an vehicular accident or had a child or dog run out into the road in front of me. Those are the only times "he" has appeared in my adult years.

I was hoping that the custom would be for the Thunder bird "spirit" that had been with me all those years; however, the one who came forward during the conjure has told me that the one who has been with me is a LIVING entity, and is still watching over me. So... I now have 2 of these magnificent beings with me.

Has anyone else had any experiences with Thunder Birds... either living or spirit?

Awesome story Aeryn, never heard of these before. I liked reading what you had to say about your friend/protector.

Today, I felt the presence of the bound Thunderbird... VERY strongly... as I was driving home from work. Almost immediately, I saw the shadow of the living entity pass over my car. I slowed down at once, even though I was driving at the posted speed limit. About a 1/4 mile farther down the road (maybe 100 feet in front of me), a soccer ball rolled across the road, and a kid (maybe 12 years old or so) ran after the ball without looking for oncoming traffic. I realized that if the Thunderbirds had not warned me, I would have been passing the exact spot where the boy ran across the road... at about the same time.

*my heart is still beating faster than normal*

I totally cherish having these guys in my life. What amazing companions and protectors they are (not only for me, but for those in my path)!
