Immortal Pact?

I'm sure someone told me before but my first question is what does making a pact with an immortal mean what's the cost? My second is what's the pros/cons of it and the specific immortals I'm talking about are blacksmithing immortals most likely Kajishin, Kanayago, or Tyr to be exact. Hopefully you can give me some insight on this

Bit busy at the moment but I have something to contribute, posting this to my list so I don't forget about it. (I work a great deal with immortals and have engaged in every sort of bond you can imagine, those I haven't I have knowledge of still. I think I mentioned pact-making in your other thread so I should elucidate on that when I get a chance).
