You are...: in the learning process
Number of Spirits: 78
Spelled Number: 100
Your favorite spirit to work with: Djinn
If I could be anything, I would be...: Dragon
My super power would be...: Ability to shape-shift
My magical/paranormal name...: A secret.

Maybe a silly question, but I was watching some stage magic shows on Youtube. I'm not in favor of the conspiracy theorists who say it's all camera tricks and CGI. I also don't give a lot of credence to the word vomit from the conspiracy theorists, but I do often find their "evidence" interesting to watch (seriously, these guys are like the best PR there is for stage magicians--they make it ridiculously easy to find all the best/entertaining clips in one place). I have a tendency to watch the videos specifically to see the evidence and form my own opinions or break down the trick (not to mention be entertained), not to listen to what they have to say.

That said, I suggest ignoring any text or overlaid narration in favor of watching the magic tricks in the videos below. I've thought long and hard about these, and I can't for the life of me figure out how some of these tricks could be done. I'm no expert, but watch when certain transmutation tricks are slowed down frame by frame, when the physical item logically doesn't fit in the vessel it appears from (here's a good example of this), or when things are teleported.

2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8CrRmaDTM0

4) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24vkXSm4ErY
5) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8i0JvbZD3o

One thing I notice in the above is how he's usually (not always) wearing the same bracelet. Vessel, maybe?

Then there's this guy. The trick is distracting, I know (especially if you're into the original Cap'n Tightpants in Labyrinth), but watch his eyes.

And again, see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVsUj8EgTps around the 9 minute mark.

Now, not gonna lie, a lot of this can be explained by invisible strings and/or sleight of hand, like the butterflies, and some, like the changing T-shirt could be a really good 3D object projector [how he got it in there unnoticed and keeps it working on an object that isn't stationary--himself--is another question], but others, like the skateboard and sunglasses (which is outside in full sun, not indoors where lighting can be controlled for a 3D projector)? Times Square phones? What's the deal with that orange juice? Mind = blown.

I realize it's unlikely that anybody here is a stage magician who could shed some light on these tricks, but... Thoughts on the genuinely outlandish ones that defy explanation, and the stuff going on with the eyes? Djinn? Mirrors, strings, and other such chicanery? Something else? Anybody want to ruin the fun and explain how those freaking fish appeared or the jelly bean thing or the wallets transmuted to cash/reappeared in peoples' pockets?

This is something that I have wondered about, as well. Especially with today's magicians, the illusions are so much more complex and detailed, doing things that seem to defy the laws of physics. It is totally possible that at least some of them have a genie assistant. Also, there is a very popular seller who has a picture of a famous magician wearing one of her genie rings. It will be interesting to hear other's opinion on this.
