Hi Everyone!
What is the difference between a griffin and a gryphon, or are
they the same creature? I have two griffin on a necklace from
Dee Dee I thought they were the same as gryphon, just wondered
if anyone knew?

Yes they are the same.

If I recall correctly Grifoun is the old French name for them, while the name Griffon is middle english. Here are some of the bases .... Latin - Gryphus .... Greek - Grypos .... Spanish - Gripo

There are several variations, however Gryphon, Griffin, and Griffen, seem to be the most common.

Forgive me if I am off on these as I am pulling info from memory!

Yes, FW is right. Griffin and Gryphon are the same.
