So, i've been looking at djinn topics and listings and i notice that there seems to be so many different types of djinns.
First you have the arabian djinn, shaitan, ghul, jann, marid, ifrit and the races of asian, african and egyption djinn.
This is simple enough, but then you see sometimes combos of these, such as egyption ifrit or egyption marid, or often ifrit and marid used together, but then you've got other types sometimes by themselves or together such as, god djinn, golden djinn, king djinn and cleopatra djinn.
Then others such as bahai, diatma, malichai and dragon djinn. Sometimes these differ from things like, asian dragon djinn or just bahai djinn, but then you'll get diatma marid djinn or diatma marid ifrit djinn then sometimes a nationality added on so you end up with king african marid ifrit dragon djinn or something slightly bizzare or otherwise confusing.
What's the differerence between say just a bahai djiinn and a bahai marid djiinn. ?
But then what gets even more confusing is some sellers on ebay i see will use terms such as succubus and demon together or interchangeably with djinn. :eh:
This is to the point where you see a listing of:
HAUNTED DARK IFRIT EFRIT MARID DEMON SUCCUBUS GOLDEN GOD SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICKEXPIALIDOCIOUS EGYPTION DJINN
That may be an exaggeration, but you get what i mean, right?
What are the differences between all these djiins? :problem:
I'm probably missing out other types of djinn such as astral djinn aswell.
So many Djinns....

Have you checked out the CH Encyclopedia on Djinns?

I know what you are saying about confusion... I have a couple marids, Norse, and a king Neb djinn.
Best,

You've been here longer than me so you're much less of a :noob:: than me, so that's nothing to worry about.
Yeah, i've read the entries in the encylopedia, and i understand those types, but then some people list types and races together.
For instance, i've seen listings of people saying they have a marid ifrit djinn. I didn't think it was possible for a djiinn to be both a marid and an ifrit.
And then there is the listings of succubus ifrit egyptian djiin and some even longer djiinn types. I thought ifrit, marid, sila and shaitan djiin etc; were only islamic/arabic djiin?

I am going to defer to content experts on this... but I think a lot of it depends on the sellers description. I know the only sellers I (personally) have worked with are CH, Lisa (real_magick), and moonstar7spirits. But there are a LOT of other reputable sellers out there. I don't know well enough so I will give this thread a in hopes a more seasoned member will chime in.jumbo128 wrote:You've been here longer than me so you're much less of a :noob:: than me, so that's nothing to worry about.

First of all, in reference to the eBay listings....a lot of sellers will throw all those words into their auction's title so it will come up in your search terms. So you'll peek at their listing whether or not is truly something you were looking for. It annoys me and often I just refuse to look.
Secondly, there are sellers who aren't reputable and may not be selling their own conjured spirits, or may not know what the heck they are offering.
Third, even reputable sellers will use different names for the same spirit. It doesn't mean they are more correct or more wrong...they just use different names. It was how they were taught to conjure or perhaps they come from different cultures and different backgrounds. Many spirits overlap one another.
Just look at the Immortals from different cultures and time, and you can see what I mean.
The best thing to do is to start off with sellers you trust and then branch out from there. If an auction doesn't ring true to you no matter WHAT they call it, don't buy. If it does...no matter what it's name...then buy it. If you're unsure, contact the seller for more information. If they don't provide the information or their description and answer is still to sketchy for you, then move on.
In the end, you can only go by your own feelings and intuition.
