One thing about the Facebook pet groups I belong to is we ALL love each other's furbabies, and Beau was no exception to that rule. Everybody adored that little guy.

But today, Beau's battle with heart trouble became too much. His mama opted for the Final Act of Mercy. So there are many tears being shed on Facebook.

RIP, little Beau. We will miss your precious face and your funny stories. The world has shrunk a bit today, with the departure of a sweet little soul.

If you read back, CHF is what killed my Gizmo. RIP little Beau.

My friend's litter of newborn kittens, Eaten by her Husky...she was so upset! The dog was locked up, but got out. The momma cat cried and cried! *bawls* Also,Mr Binky, an awesome cat, 20 years old. We had a hard life together old friend, and you were there beside me all the way! I am glad I broke my leg so I could spend your last months napping with you!

On my that is awful!!!! When my cat had kittens my dog actually helped the mama cat take care of the little kittens. That poor Mama cat I feel so bad for her!!! Mr. Binky sounds like an awesome cat!! May he rest in peace but least he lived a long happy life!!!

Very heartbreaking! Poor tiny ones!

If Mama Cat bears another litter, maybe your friend can put the kitty family in a pet crate for a while, as an extra level of security against something going wrong.

Mr. Binky sounds sweet, and the fact that he reached age 20 is a testament to the great care he received all his life. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thirty six hour old puppy. Found dead in the box just now. It seems he wiggled his way under mama and smothered to death. Of seven, five are now alive, two boys, three girls. Originally it was a set of triplets and a set of quadruplets, but two of The quadruplets are now deceased.

I hate when little innocent babies, of any species, come to harm. Poor wee one.

To all my fur babies, I love and miss so much. I could list them all, from childhood on but it would probably boor everyone pretty quickly... there are many

Stanley, my 11-year-old kitty. I'm still astonished that he went from just-fine when I got up yesterday morning, to getting mopey, to getting mopey and hidey, in the space of 24 hours. I called the vet this morning when he was no better today than he was yesterday once his symptoms began appearing. Then I called for a sooner appointment when I noticed Stanley was starting to have labored breathing.

To my utter shock, the x-rays showed that the most likely source of the trouble was metastatic cancer that had spread to the lungs, with no prognosis for recovery nor even palliative care. I *still* can't wrap my mind around that. There was only one real course of action. I would not let him suffer. We chose the Final Act of Mercy.

But The Hubby and I stayed with Stanley until the end, skritching him and petting him. He purred through it all. That's all he ever did was purr -- you could LOOK at him and he would purr -- so that's fitting.

He knows he was, and is, an incredibly loved cat. But he took a part of me with him to the Rainbow Bridge.
