In a sense he does, but then it's interesting because I feel like a rather liberated and wild individual already, lol. Yet there are definite times, I have needed an extra push or release, and he has brought that about in smoothly transitioned yet equally startling ways. This is stating from the few clear interactions we've had (he's always around, but there is constant influence vs. the more significant instances to note). One can lock themselves up in many ways, he offers to unlock whether you are comfortable with it or not..and then you are shown, that the aversion you thought was necessary actually inhibited you.

Sometimes you aren't in the right state of mind to understand what is best; you'll think something isn't okay when it's what fuels you. He wants you to live and enjoy life and be alive, do not play dead before your time.

If you need something, he knows; and no matter the situation..if you can't bring yourself to take what you need he will throw you into it. He almost draws you to ask it of him, there is a hypnotic aspect I find. Before you know it, it's happening all around you..and you need to let it happen, embrace the moment. Then you come out feeling better, like a very cool doctor just came to see you. Some things only the Baron can prescribe.

So; though he can come across as this risky, outrageous character..he is this way out of such adoration for the living. It's a dissonance that can take some acquiring to, but once you do -- there is the unique change only he can bring to your life. Your perception is turned upside down, and shaking things up that way opens you to fantastic advancement previously unseen.
Hm, somehow sounds very Dionysian to me :inlove: :lildevil:

LOL adelphia. What is the difference if you marry an immortal?Or what benefits do you get from the relationship that a "normal" devotee doesn't.Not sure if I phrased that correctly.

You may not be getting many nibbles because of the Extremely personal and private nature of most interactions with Baron Samedi. (or the other Barons for that matter - Baron La Croix, Baron Cimitiere, or Baron Kriminel.)

I will admit I am reluctant to describe my experiences in detail in a public forum. My journey with Him has been deeply transformative, often frightening, and borderline pornographic. He has challenged me to grow, to change, to face my fears and myself, to shed what limits or no longer serves me. He has pushed my boundaries again and again; sometimes because He thought they needed to be pushed, and sometimes just to make me stand up and push back.

He has shaken my world to it's very foundations and forced me past limitations I thought insurmountable.
And I love Him, :inlove: I love Him, :inlove: I love Him.

But it isn't comfortable. It isn't easy. It isn't a journey where you get to make the rules or apply the brakes. I'm also not working with him in a traditional format, as I am not a voudisant, and I wouldn't want to be perceived as trampling all over someone else's religion.

This is one of the first places I staggered into when I first encountered Baron Samedi, and it gave me some idea of what (or Who) was happening to me.

I was embarrassed to buy such a thing, I admit, but for someone who knew Nothing about Voodoo it helped me to grasp some basic concepts and dispel some misconceptions. Later I realized that Way too much of my previous understanding was based on sleazy Exploitation films from the 70's.

The Baron and other Gede are fun loving. The Gede love attention.

but it should be mentioned that as fun loving as they can be,they are also very serious and NOT to be angered or trifled with in anyway.

They can in fact be VERY deadly and to be respected at all times.

Yeah I get you! Well... marriage is like the patron relationship taken to the next level. For some it is very devotional, such as brides of Christ. I think the levels of this can very from the extreme to the low-end. In general, if an Immortal is well known and has a lot of wives, there will not be a lot of focus on you as far as jealousy or interfering with human relationships. The marriage would be more a spiritual binding, while there can be a sexual element as well. It may just be a way of intensifying your relationship with an Immortal, for some it can be commitment (for others it does not carry any promise of commitment, both the Immortal and the Human are welcome to marry others as they please, including the mortal marrying other Immortals). Although that is probably not the case with most such marriages - more usually, it may be indicative of the mortal's pure devotion to the one deity, and as such, the mortal may be free to pursue human relationships, but not marry other immortals. I think this is how it is approached in human marriages with the Baron.

I am not the expert, this is just my thought based on intuition into the Baron and my own marriage to the Immortal Ba'al (where it is not 'monogamous' I am encouraged with the greatest of liberty). I quickly googled marriage and Baron Samedi and this came up:
Baron adores taking lovers. He is quite fond of being around them and will propose a marriage of sorts to keep them in his stable. By proposing I mean he will keep at you until you agree to marry him. Male or female you will have no escape if he truly loves and desires you.

Well this marriage is quite real, to be honest. He has a huge problem. See in traditional paths, he is deader than a doornail, and therefore no matter how many hougans or mambos are told he wants a husband or wife the supplicants are turned down flat. This distresses him, as every other loa gets to take hundreds if not thousands of brides and husbands as the years roll on.

But I've run into many who have gotten a very serious proposal from him. True, you will never, ever receive the fancy church marriage they hand out for the other loa. But it will be just as binding, and he is an excellent provider. Some of these marriage pacts seem to be sexless while others are quite sexual. There are a few brave souls who will marry you to Baron. Again, it depends on the Hougan or Mambo you talk to. But if no one else will do it the whole ceremony will consist of blessing rings for the two of you, and making him a feast at home in most cases. He will marry you to himself, as he is a lwa, er law, unto himself.

This is why I've been rather vague with describing my experience, lol. It doesn't seem like something I can post publically..but I can explain the overall feel and significance.
