Then it sounds like you need this journey. I think as you travel further into this spiral your understanding of evil and absolutes will undergo a transformation. I have met my shadow, I know her, I am comfortable with her, I quite like her & I have let her show herself much earlier than I've been aware of her showing herself. Circumstances in which she has shown herself have not always been pretty, but I am proud of her - she shows herself when she needs to. When I became aware of her, I said hello. Now we can work better together

Hmm, I would really like to know, how to get in touch with my shadow self. is there a ritual, or would it be enough to meditate with the intention to meet the shadow self, and then see what comes up?

What if what you're seeing, is your animalic side? You seem to have delved in deep within yourself.. I think this simply came as a shock to you, in finding it.. yet it's in all of us.

Each of us has that raw, primal side to us.. and we have the ability to "switch off our humanity" (as the Vampire Diaries would say) and let that side dominate.. or keep it on lock down to fit in to society.

Just because it is there, does not mean it is uncontrolled.. you demonstrate every day, that it is.. not so? Therefore, it is not something to fear. It is a facet of your being, it is your unconscious mind, and it is your primal instincts..

And by repressed it doesn't mean just the bad stuff. If you were told that loving is bad and you repressed it, you could have a loving shadow self. If you were emotionally hurt and you repressed your trust, your shadow self could be a very trusting person.

Your animalic side.. the side you speak of, when mentioning killing, can be described in a nutshell as the measurement of your humanity.. how much do you value life As someone who works with Death... and from your posts in the past, I gather you have found quite a deep appreciation for life... and thus, for the life in others, therefore killing is not going to be something in your immediate, or even distant, future.. lol. In all seriousness, a killer either turns off their humanity to commit the crime, or it is brain and chemical related and they literally do not have the ability to "feel" as such..

Ok... so now we've dipped into the darker end of the animalic side..

But what about the "lighter" side?

SEX originates from your animalic side... sex IS your animalic side... and it's perfectly good and fine, isn't it? Not a single thing wrong with having mind blasting sex

There are many "programmed aspects" of the human psyche and being, that originate from the animalic side of us, and they are not inherently "evil" or even "dark"..

Aprophis, you brought up stunning points !!! I fully agree, and you are very correct... it certainly doesn't just mean the negative things.. anything that is repressed really, becomes that "shadow self" and that is really important to understand if one is going to explore this.
