'I would rather be whole, then be good.....'
Carl Jung

“Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my Fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past me, I will turn to see Fear’s path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.”

I love lots of the music mentioned in this thread.

I also love just about anything by Kelly Howell.

I have a Proteus Light and Sound machine which is really great but what I especially love is an app for PC called Natura Sound Therapy. You can create your own music with it thanks to a whole bunch of mix and match presets and then add brainwave-altering tones underneath the music.

I use the lowest level of Theta and that's when I can usually begin to hear my spirits speaking without questioning whether it's them or my own imagination. It also zaps you into a meditative state in about five minutes!

I love nature sounds too. Especially water (ocean, creek, rain, doesn't matter)! I can't do generic new age ambiance, or anything with too much of a melody line either. Though I do love slow, sustained choral music.

One unique sound that really gets me in the zone (though it may grate on other people LOL) is the sound of the cicada Tanna japonensis (can be found http://youtu.be/t8hzND8tuVQ)

Anything by this user http://www.youtube.com/user/vilureef777 is really nice and useable.

I also like to get a good dosage of sacred solfeggios with http://youtu.be/SugtS3tqsoo, but I can't meditate to that for a long time. Just listen. Pure listen.
