I supplement.
Some gods in Japan were originally gods in India and China.
For instance, the root of TAISYAKUTEN is INDRA.
And, the root of DAIKOKU (1 of the seven gods of good fortune) is SHIVA.
Perhaps, it is divided in opinion of whether TAISYAKUTEN and INDRA are the same god.
And, most people do not think that DAIKOKU and SHIVA are the same god.
And, most Japanese think SHOKI and zhōngkuí are same god.

You will see Immortals cross many civilizations and cultures. Egyptians worshipped Roman gods who then became Egyptian gods over time. The Romans worshipped Greek gods who changed their names and they became Roman gods. Both the Egyptians and the Romans have their own gods that have nothing to do with other civilizations but they do share common threads of spirituality due to the invasion of their countries and from people migrating from their home to new countries and bringing their beliefs with them. Slowly over time those beliefs incorporate into their new country and usually the names of the gods change to suit the native language.
If you start tracing all major religions back to their roots you'll see many share the same, primary ingredients. From there they branch into either drastically different entities & spiritual beings or they share similiarities between the religions in beings & races of beings.
It's not unusual or uncommon for obvious reasons.

Great question...but I am not entirely sure.

paganhillbilly, I think it's like... if a whole group of separate people all make respectful offerings and/or homage to the same immortal... that one immortal's energy still comes through to each of those people.
For an immortal deity, seems like being in more than one place at the same time probably isn't that hard. That's just my take on it though.
Immortals in my experience just appreciate that someone remembers them, they're happy that they're starting to be appreciated again the way they once were and they reward those who make them a bit part of their lives.

You're welcome, glad I could help. Edit: I meant to say "they reward those who make them a *big* part of their lives not "bit"... make that typo all the time.
Best wishes!

NEKOMATA is classified as a god in this list.
But NEKOMATA is not god.
In the region with folk of BAKE-NEKO(monster cat),there is a Shinto shrine that is is commonly called NEKO-GAMI-SAN.However, the purpose of it is to be memorial, and it doesn't worship cat.
NEKOMATA is a YOUKAI.

This may seem like a stupid question but how does one actually use spirit stones? I am interested in purchasing some of the immortal one's like Aphrodite, Zeus, and Hera?
