How's this for dedication?
The mummified remains of a meditating Buddhist monk have reportedly been discovered in Mongolia with early estimates suggesting it being at least 200 years old.
Tuesday's stunning find reported by the country's Morning News revealed an ash-colored man sitting in a pensive lotus position, with no visible decay.
It was discovered inside of the Songinokhairkhan province, but exactly where and how was not released.
He was additionally described as found covered with some kind of cattle skin.
The human remains were taken to Ulaanbataar National Centre of Forensic Expertise for further study, according to the report.
It's been suggested that the man was a teacher of the famous Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov whose body was found eerily preserved — also seated in the lotus position — after his own death in 1927.
In 2002 Itigilov's body was exhumed from his grave to dozens of witnesses, including two forensic experts and a photographer before tucked away in a monastery, the New York Times reported.
Sokushinbutsu, the Buddhist practice of self-preservation, was performed between the 11th and 19th centuries in mainly northern Japan, according to various reports.
It was considered to be the ultimate act of religious discipline and dedication, more than just suicide.

Fascinating! A meaningful death.
Mummified bodies in a sense transcend life and death with their presence and should inspire us to see beyond the mundane illusion of what both consist of, to a greater spiritual reality.

They don't understand about his death. There is a practice that I learned from 2nd Deshung Rimpoche and Chagdud Tulku, called Po-Wa. It is a process for leaving your body, and thus after 49 days, going into the Bardo (The Intermediate Place between Life and Death and Death and Reincarnated Life. He died in a meditating position and then froze.
The Powa is a very powerful practice - so powerful that I will not specifically write about it nor explain its process. There is a meditation that you must practice 75,000 time which means about 1-2 hours per day for half a year. I have done this, and one time while practicing, I left something out, and suddenly began to feel lighter. Of course, my fist fear was, I "Pulled the switch! to open the BArdo"...so I memediately stopped and "Closed up" what I was doing. Sometimes when one practices this, a small amount of blood may "Seep" itself out of the top of the head. Also there are 2 separate mantra. That's all I'll say.

Anyone who wants to learn Po-Wa should go to a Tibetan Lama, and ask them if they would refer you to a teacher of Po-Wa in the United States, or whatever country you live in. You will need a lama that is " A Rimpoche" or higher.or someone who is reccomended to you.
