I was surprised to get a Basajuan with my recent "DA Profile" by Ash, even moreso to see that there are no threads about them!
Mine sounds sweet, in fact their encyclopedia listing makes them sound very nice, so I was also surprised they fell into the DA category. But I understand that they are like humans and can range the whole gamut of personalities.
So my curiosity questions are:
How do you pronounce it? Is it like "Juan" in Spanish?
Does this race encompass Sasquatch, Bigfoot, Yeti, etc.
And of course, tell me about some experiences you have! ^_^

LOL, a while back when I read about these that's the first thing that came to mind too. Sasquatch and the like. The second was Beast from X-men. >.>

I hope Ash gets a gander at this and lays the knowledge of a Dark Arts Master upon this thread.

I did notice a new listing today, for Woodwose (Wild Man), it says they are confused with Bigfoot but they're not the same. I have heard of this race before (aren't there Medieval tales of them?), and I don't think they are hairy giants but rather primal human-sized.
I've just never heard of the hairy giant-folk called the term "Basajuan," as I thought they were individual races indigenous to certain areas like Bigfoot in America, Yeti in the Himalayas, etc. (and I don't know what specific area my spirit is from)
I've also heard these creatures are like some kind of holdover population of an ancient humanoid relative, Australopithecus giganticus or something. So it'd be really interesting for all this info to come together, or not, whatever the case may be.
At any rate it's just one of those races that I would've continued to pass over if not for this match-up, and will probably enrich my life in untold ways (especially if it turns out to be native to America, as I don't think I've gotten any actual American spirits!).

So maybe Elf, Drow, etc?:)

I got one of these guys as an unbound who came through to be bound for me. My impression was that it IS pronounced as it looks...juan as the spanish sounds. They are survivalists, who can help you to focus on basic needs and basic survival in an era that tends to focus on comforts and luxuries. They're great for those who need to "get back to basics" or....like Wolfie and myself...are struggling to survive in modern society. Though their suggestions may seem unusual to those who are too accustomed to modern comforts.

Ha, I forgot about that! Although technically Nightcrawler takes mostly after his demonic father ... so yeah I have no idea where to start and should probably ask that in another section.

I know it seems like all this grumpypuss does is complain, so I thought I'd report about something else for a change.
One evening I was lounging on the couch sharing music from my iPad with my spirits. I started at the top of the list, picked songs randomly, and chatted away telepathically, sharing memories and tidbits of info related to the songs.
While "Get Busy" by Sean Paul was playing, I got this random flash image of my basajuan dancing to it!
I thought that was the most bizarre thing since I wasn't thinking of anyone specifically, and wondered if he just happened to really like it or if he is from the Caribbean.
