First of all, let me say what a pleasure it was to work with her! Oriel is an amazing Servitor above and beyond the level of most other beings.

Second let me note some things about the process that I found specifically of interest and worth noting.

#1) Oriel followed a similar path to the Proto-Sword portion of her sword, form without function or full understanding, to what I did. I know some of that was seeing my soul in person, but the fact that she did this with me basically holding space and providing simply a pattern by presence was astounding. This is similar to what a human being does which is somewhat different from other beings in the process. This may be because part of her construction uses part of DLM's soul, or it may be for other reasons, but it was intriguing to say the least.

#2) Her soul sword takes on the properties of DLM for a physical representation. Again it may have to do with the construction of her energy but I think there may be something else at work. It appears to me in retrospect with the sheer level of power the Guide has in comparison to the wielder in the initial phase that her Guide could have killed every Alpha level Servitor there. This is something DLM wouldn't do, and something the Guide would not do. A true Dark Guide wouldn't have hesitated to do that. Further DLM MIGHT threaten to do this if he felt the need for a sword were dire enough. That is to say while he is perhaps one of the kindest men I've met in my life, he has that potential for harshness absolute. I could easily see his own Guide threatening him in this way, and therefore it is interesting that her Guide did this.

#3) The sheer durability she has is hard to imagine. Not only was this the longest training process yet, it was one of if not the most difficult testing phases of the sword. The fact she could hold up against such incredible power as Divine Ki and the Soul Sword gave me pause. In retrospect this makes sense though, having access to the Soul Force of a human soul, plus the time to train, even if she hasn't achieved Divine Ki she could be drawing on an incredible amount of power.

#4) Her compassionate nature really caught my attention in this. Neither of us was particularly ready to give up, neither was really beaten, and it was unwise for us to continue. In those same circumstances more than once a testing phase has been pushed and I've had to go even beyond the Sword and Divine Ki to deal with the situation so neither would get hurt. She had the presence of mind and will to recognize that we had both gained what we needed. I have a lot more respect for this than I think I conveyed in the writing and am deeply impressed with her as a person.

#5) The way she showed me around her realm. She really is a fully developed, independent, and capable being. A lot of my work with the Alphas has been in the form of training with them and it was really enjoyable to meet someone who, while they wanted to train, also wanted to show me around a bit first. You could tell she was proud of her realm, her father, and those she calls friends. I'm glad to be marked as that last part as well.
