The Eight Tenets of Ritual Magick

1. Expect the unexpected;
2. Magic has no morality;
3. As above, so below;
4. There are no coincidences;
5. There is a choice that is no choice;
6. Change is the only constant;
7. Seize the day and there is a price to pay;
8. A true magician must transcend himself.

The Ontology of Quantum Objects
1. There is no deep reality.
2. Reality is created by observation.
3. Reality is undivided wholeness.
4. Reality consists of a steadily increasing number of parallel universes.
5. The world obeys a non-human kind of reasoning.
6. The world is made of ordinary objects.
7. Consciousness creates reality.
8. The world is two-fold, consisting of potentials and actualities.

That's excellent. At the same time I take a different road (and of course, believe it is the main truth here with 2. and 4.

As all of this really is belief, I follow the pre-vedic concept of what translates as "The Ocean of Story" (circa 7,000 BC) that there is a sizeless endlessness of a massive beyond anything-at-elseness or all creativeness of consciousness (that we probably only know about to the aspect of lets say 3 percent... It is called in sanskrit: The - ParamaMahaParamaBrahmana...

And at the same time: The Dimensional Studies made by MAry Boole and Voynich circa 1890s-1920s

Herbert's Quantum Reality is indeed a great book to read, albeit many concepts are already different from quantum theory. The Copenhagen interpretation (#1 and #2 above) have been criticized as well since 1980s.

I'm not sure I get your point, darkwing. Do you disagree with it personally? If so, why or why not?

No, not disagreeing personally, of course. But Herbert's book was first published in 1985, and from then to now there have been many more advancement in quantum theory. As well, Herbert did mention that the concept of quantum reality in his book may not cover quantum theory at the time.

Explaining eaxh of them might get too technical (wavefunction collapse etc.) and digress too much from the topic (the tenets of ritual magick should be discussed as well). But I have to mention this: the term "consciousness" in classical quantum mechanics refers to observer who is aware, thus "consciousness creates reality" means the observer defines the properties of an object through measurement. It overlaps with the metaphysical definition such as in law of attraction etc. indeed, but to say that science agrees with the metaphysical interpretation is a fallacy.

But as Feynman said, "I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics." Thus, I can only say: not sure...

As to Ritual Magick, I find the texts from the 1700s and the 1800s more valuable As to extreme subtleties. What you have listed isn't really wrong at all, but it has a flavour (sometimes) of Descartes Thinking (which is disgusting) and misses out on the concepts of many.. Currently: I am working on a 4 volume set:The 4th Dimension:Vol 1. John Dee The 4th Dimensions: Vol 2:: Bishop George Berkeley, The 4th Dimensions: Vol. 3: Boole & Company; The 4th Dimensions: Vol 4: Voynich & Flowers

PS. If you wish to work with this project, let me know...
Cheers,
