Halloween?

Postby LadyWo1f » Fri Oct 28, 2016 4:48 pm

So, has anyone had some crazy experiences going around during Halloween, spirit wise?

Of course Halloween is suppose to be when the spirit veil is the thinnest, so I have been told. It was my werewolf's first Halloween last year. I think I heard him howl once, yet I'm not for sure if it was on Halloween night. Perhaps it was some other day, but whatever, that's not the story here.

What I'm wondering is if there is anything more "interesting" you can do during Halloween time. Something such as some type of unique bonding spell, candle ritual, or anything bonding wise.

1rd

I've been doing little research about Halloween superstitions as well. I don't believe in most of them, such as the classic black cat crossing the road. However, they still are pretty interesting. Black cats are also cute as well.

One I knew for a while was if at Halloween night your brush your hair and eat and apple in front of a mirror in a dark room that you may get a glimpse of your true love. If it appears as a skull, you will die before you get married.

Another different take on the black cat was that is you are walking alone at night and you see a black cat staring at you, then leave, it was suppose to be a demon looking at you.

(I think that's how it went but I have a feeling it had more detail for some reason.)

Finally if there is a baby born on Halloween then they are suppose to be psychic and can summon the dead.

Whelp, that's all I got. Superstitions are pretty interesting. And yes, has nothing to do with communicate except that I heard of some spell on this site involving a mirror and an invocation to grab a glimpse of your spirit friend. I have written it down already, I just don't know if I want to do it yet. I wanted a special time and place comfortable do it, fail or not.

Anyway, have any superstitions I don't know?

Oh, and Halloween connecting ideas would be great. Of course, Halloween can just be any day of the week, which I could see. But come on, being festive is great.

Okay, good bye reader. 2yn

This is an indirect and not so quick answer to your question, but you might enjoy the book "Halloween: An American Holiday, An American History." https://amzn.com/1565543467
Of course there are witchy and Wiccan-type books catered to Halloween, not so much anything written specifically for spirit-keepers though. And you can't be sure if any of the witchy books have correct info. It never hurts to read some scholarly background resources when looking for ideas.
Well, it depends on how much of a stickler you are for history or not. ;P
But yeah wouldn't it be great to have an actual Halloween magick manual geared towards spirit-keepers?

What is this mirror thing to see your spirits? I know the Victorian ritual of looking in the mirror on Halloween night to see your true love but I didn't know you could see your spirits too. Is it your spirit companions you can see? Or just one or whoever decides to show up? Or spirits of any sort? And can you do it multiple times or just once? Can you do different mirror things for different purposes or just one?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm intrigued...

My concerns are that whatever I do, I'll see my ex who died a year and a half ago and I'm not sure I want to.

Not exactly about Halloween or Samhain:
-In East Asian countries, there are a period when it is believed that ghost and spirits (especially ancestors) would roam and visit, e.g. Chinese Ghost Month, Japanese O-bon, etc.
-In Japan, the month of October is called 'Kannazuki' or 'Kaminashizuki', meaning 'Godless Month'. It is when all the kami leave their shrines to have a meeting in Izumo Shrine, where Okuninushi resides.

Well, I can give you the spell since I wrote it down, but I'll answer some of your questions.

You can do it whenever, it's just advised when do the spirit spell if it doesn't work the first time to remain calm. Take about five to fifteen minutes to calm down and try again.

You choose which ones you wish to see, as the spell involves having their vessel. I wouldn't be surprised if another spirit would like to show up, however.

I don't know what you mean by mirror purposes, unless you mean like having a certain mirror to do the spell with. You can use any mirror for the spell, small or large. Its not going to become cursed in any way as far I'm concerned. Also, I don't think if you use the mirror for one spell that it will harm the other spells you may try. Hope that answers that.

Anyway. This is the main components, you need:

A mirror
Your spirit vessel
A calm, clear mind
The incanation below

(Optional) Lights off
Candles
Incense (Spirits likey likey)

NOTE: I"m not entirely sure if you were suppose to say this spell once or three times in a row (I believe it was recommended 3, but try it once before you start to get the words down) Also, this only works (or is suggested) that the spell is used to see white arts spirits only. I believe you can use it on any spirit but you would need more protection and/or a strong mind to face the imagery they have to offer.

Hopefully I'll find the spells link to clarify the exact rules the person had.

Okay, I know before performing the spell you must clear your mind. Don't think of what you could see in mirror. Have no excitement whatsoever. Be comfortable and relaxed.

The lighting of the room doesn't matter. You may leave the lights on if you want, but if you want to set the mood you can light candles and turn off the lights.

Once you think your ready, put the vessel you wish to commune with in your hands or wear it. Close your eyes or leave them open. Repeat the spell below 3 times in your calm state. (It's best to memorize it so there is no error in the spell)

Little friend in my looking glass come out to play
I ask you be a companion haunting me today
Show your face little friend, let me see you shine
I am your beholden and you, dear friend, are mine

Open your eyes if you closed them. Look at the mirror. Possible appearances may be orbs, streaks, apparitions, or mist coming out of or seen on the mirror.

I'm not entirely sure if you can use this spell with dead loved ones, however, you can try holding a possession of theirs or imagine their presence while doing the spell, then maybe that could do something. However, I would highly recommend some hefty protection and caution if you do experiment. You never know what can come through.

Again, I'll try finding the link. Happy Halloween! 2yn

Interesting. In fact, I recently discover Halloween means "All Hallows Eve" which is the day before "All Saints Day". All Saints day is a day used to honour all saints known and unknown in the world. Its pretty interesting how one day could even be called "the devil's birthday" (which it's not) to some lead up to an innocent Christian holiday no one hardly knows in modern society. I bet the book would answer a lot of questions about Halloween origin. Thank you. 2co

That somehow reminds me of this one tradition somewhere, I don't know where, maybe Indonesia or some other country like that, who has a strange creepy ritual. I don't know if it's every year or a certain amount of years, but here's the stuff. The family of a dead relative retrieves the dead body of their loved one and escorts their dead body around town. They walk with the rotting body around the town I think to honor them about when they were alive (I'm not for sure on details) but the corpse seems to eerily walk with them until they rest again in their grave. Something interesting you may or may not know about. 2sc

Wait, it's literally the first thread in the connection forum. Should be called, "a tried true test to see if it's real" or something like that. She never says if you need to say it three times or not. Idk. You do you, that's the focus.
