I have one and I use it before spending time with my spirits in meditation or spellwork - I've found that it helps to purify the immediate area through sound and alerts my spirits that I've got distraction free time to spend with them

I have a bell that used to belong to the 'bokor' for Papa Doc in Haiti. When I got it, I thought "real Vodou! How great!"
Not great at all. All my spirits hate it, each and every one. It doesn't have a nice sound at all. I don't know what was summoned with that thing, but it couldn't have been good.
I think you could do better going to one of those shops with the Bells of Sarna or Indian bells and let your spirits choose. Or wind chimes. Wind chimes are very popular in this house. It's kinda fun when you have company over and it's dead still outside but your wind chimes are all going off.
