This has been on my mind for a few days so I thought I'd ask. Can drugs or chemicals enhance your connection with the paranormal? If yes, practical, recreational? Like coffee compared to LSD. Nicotine? Energy drinks? Do any of these things have an effect in that area?

The answer to that question is that they may impede your connection to the paranormal.

Caffeine doesn't do anything. As lsd it's arguable. Some really believes it opens their mind in indescribable ways. Weed may block or do nothing. Mushrooms may cause additional hallucinations to what is actually there. Buddhist practitioners are against mind altering substances yet they are able to move their mind/spirit from person to person to inanimate objects. Even demon conjurers say alcohol will invite things that may block your vision.

Psychotropic Drugs (expanded Definition) fall into 2 categories (both controversial but much poroof abides):

1. Antdepressants: Prozac thru Abilify...seretonin inhibiters, regulators, whatever......all a bit different but fromp rozac and lithium all the way sildenafil (marketed as Viagra) and tadalafil. Bremelanotide appears to affect sexual desire directly, making it the first scientifically recognized aphrodisiac. Also melanotan II.
How do I know this: The company I work for is deeply connected to the Worlds of BioPharma, Robotics, and Security.

2. Psychedelics: LSD-6 seems to be workable, LSD-25, will cause liver damage, and gives no lasting help to one's intelligence, and none to one's ability to explore mystic realms, although you will get a taste of it that starts out well and ends badly (at worst) or unimpressive (at best). psyloyibin creates either a visual ecstasy with or without strong nervousness or euphoria. DMT - tryptamines can kill you within minutes in some cases, and in other cases, it does not.... But who wants to play Russian Roulette? A Big High - last for a short time... can hook you into a length of time for recurring headaches.

3. Ayahuasca aka yage is a psychedelic brew made fromf Banisteriopsis caapi. This can take you to other worlds. Long distance hearing, etc, etc. But you need a Roadman or a Pyschologist/Psychiatrist to be with you. Same for peyote, which causes some vomiting for a short time. With peyote, who knows what you'll experience. It seems to be different, every time.

4. Typical time frame for "being in the box" 9 hours to one and one half days.

5. All others from Belladona to anything else may easily kill you or give you real brain damage, or kill you .
6. Scopolamine - you will sit in a friendly environment, happy and calm, and will spill out every secret you have, and you will tell the questioner anything he wants to hear, and love every minute of it. Truth Serum

7. Chloroform: Had it once for a childhood operation as that was the only drug available at that time...You enter a yellow green world that is so dangerious I won't describe it, because its also seductive, and when it wears off, the headache you have, is beyond the ordinary definition of pain..

7. Back in the day (1962 & 1963) I tried every one of these except no Belladona or any other hardcore poison for a legal government experiment at Harvard and also one in Phila for their Psychiatric Hospital.

8. I don't recomend ANY of these drugs, and further say "Stay Away From Them" > When I took them, I had Dr. Tim by my side or various Psychiatric Doctors from Philly and Vienna. .There is no safety net for most of them.

9.The depressants are very addicting and don't seem to do much good, but often makes people worse. I don't endorse any off them, and have never used them. The "male-erection drugs: never used them. never well. They can cause major heart problems. Guys: If you can't get it up, learn a new way to do it.

10. I will say this: (1) I learned a lot from "Amazonic Shamanics" (2) I learned a lot from a Set and Setting, of No drugs and guided hypnosis with guides that went pre-pre and pre-fetal awareness (spelling and word order here - is correct). And onetime I was asked to bring several favorite books, smoke gange, and then spend the day drinking tea, coffee, or soda, with no food - reading these books, and then later going home and the next day, coming back for the debriefing.....WELL! - I became a Master of Franz Kafka's Thought (parables & Paradoxes & The Castle), fell in love with Paul Verlaine (Collected bilingual Poems), wanted desperately to sleep with Jackie Susann (sometime dreams come true), and suddenly became a radical poet after reading Kenneth Patchen's First Will & Testament. And that was that.

11. During the later 1960s, I was way past even wanting to experiment with any of this stuff. So, by 1967, I had found the "right", or "correct", or "famous" people, and befriended them and asked them to teach me whatever they could or would about the Occult & Astrology.

12. So, its much better to do a simple thing in definition, but take some mental strength, to walk thru the people jungle, without getting "waylaid", but that's the way to go. As Dave Crosby once told me, "Everything we did in the 1960s was as perfectly done as any human could do it, but we f^^k&d up big time with the drugs. That was the only mistake" and I said "Solid!". In 1986 (I think), I was hanging in the Sunflower Bar just off of Harvard Square with Dr. Tim (Leary), and we were talking aboult all kinds of cool things, and then he mentioned: "You know, we really didn't need all those drugs, all that continual use, just slowed us down, and weaked our messages... Well, the next time is coming, so now we have the knowledge to do it right!" And then, about that time, our artichoke and onion pizza was brought over, along with 2 refills....

My response is: "Don't waste your time parking your car, and then, in the same spot, reparking, and reparking, and reparking, reparking, and reparking, and reparking, reparking, and reparking, and reparking, reparking, and reparking, and reparking, reparking, and reparking, and reparking, reparking, and reparking, and reparking,.......all in the same spot.

You get the drift

And if that is just too difficult to stop - then come up with a new plan and then, immediately, leave town...

You get the drift.

::rofl:: You did hit the nail on the head with erection drugs. They are not worth the risk.

I can honestly say most of this was interesting. I have no idea what you're actually on about or what the relevance is to the topic, I found it difficult to distiguish a structure. Really, I have no idea what I just read. But lol.

Convert this into dubstep, play once, then again with synchronized double chugs, then again but instead of the ending 4 convert this chord into dubstep, chug and sync with guitar.

Didn't you ask "Can drugs or chemicals enhance your connection with the paranormal?"

He's giving you first hand experience of the effects of drugs and various chemicals on both the physical and spiritual level, and then some. I found it easy to understand. Which part was unclear?

You are exactly right on this.
I understood it perfectly. I felt he gave enough information that anyone could understand.
The thing is, any type of drug will have some type of effect on you, so you have to be careful with them. Even Aspirin can cause problems, such as bleeding ulcers. Tylenol can cause liver damage.
Like you, Suga, I had no trouble understanding.

I didn't really find there was an actual answer to the question, just the basic message to not do drugs - no personal comments on whether using any drug has/does, in someone's experience, affected connections to the paranormal. But anyways, from my point of view and personal experience, I find caffeine or similar stimulants, including alcohol, to be deterimental to relaxation, mediation and communication with the paranormal.
