Is Spirit Keeping evil?

Absolutely not. Spirit Keeping is a voluntary process on both ends; they volunteer to be with you and you volunteer to have them with you. It is absolutely not a religious action as anyone of any belief system can welcome spirits into their lives and at our site there are people from all religious subscriptions who are Spirit Keepers. It is a non-discriminatory lifestyle anyone can be a part of.

This is a question that I had asked myself many times when I first started out.
Primarily, because this is sort of "outside the scope" of the strict religious views that I was raised with.
I was taught that psychics and witches were "evil" and being psychic from my early childhood years even as young as 2 or 3 years old, I felt like I kinda had to "keep to myself" about this kind of stuff because I knew that it was frowned upon by my family, and I didn't understand what was happening to me, so I knew that they would just think that I was crazy, or foolish for wasting money. (or both.)
This is why I don't tell anyone about my spirits.
(Now I'm a witch too, so that's two strikes against me. :crazy:)
The other part is because I got a wealth djinn (from a lady seller who had 100% positive feedback at the time) as my first spirit without knowing anything about them (other than that they grant wishes) and while meditating with the vessel I started seeing black arts spirits, so I thought they were attacking me because of having the djinn's vessel.
This lady claimed that "All my items are certified positive white light" and didn't say anything further, so it's like, "Okay, what's wrong with me then if everyone else is having a positive experience?"
It was a very scary first experience and I'm thankful to have found CH and all of the info that you and Ash provide.

My parents frowned upon it as well. They frowned upon my powers too, so I know how you feel.

i never got the impression that it was evil. either from my point of view or the spirits. the marid djinneyeh who are my companions as well as my succubus have always been good to me even when i was in my worst. and always helped me see things in a better light.

it feels that some people dont always understand. Spirit keeping isn't evil its a way with connecting with something outside the ordinary
