Best spirits for shielding?

Hey all. what is the best protection spirits for providing shielding protection? I lean mostly WA spirits wise.

Volkhs are cool. Intensely dedicated, low maintenance(they are friendly, though not exactly social). You have to be very clear with them though, lol As they can be so single-minded in their efforts to protect you that they can create a "Person in a bubble" scenario if left to their own devices. >.> They mean well, lol
Really, anything can be good at protection/shielding. I remember reading about how it was important way back when I first started. Ended up asking in my notes for my custom Quartz dragon(my second spirit) that she be well versed in shielding/protection magick. Oh boy, is she ever.
Custom conjures really open the floodgates when it comes to "best" as shielding is more of a skill you develop rather than natural ability. If you find a WA race you're drawn to, get a CC and ask that they be well versed in shielding. I'm sure they'll be wonderful at it.
