The Being Known As Dër Rïttër

I've been a long time skeptic of magic and paranormals, that was till a few years ago. I had HEAVILY gotten involved in the creature we know in modern times, as Slender man, yes, the creepypasta. But I wanted to find out more, I was knowledge thirsty. I decided to look up "Slender man sightings throughout history" on google and I expected the half-made feeble attempts of pranksters to fill the page, but I found the contradictory. I had found an old picture taken from late 1800's to early 1900's of a wood carving that was a LOT older, it had shown a knight getting slain by what appeared to be slenderman in a suit of armor.

To make a long story short, I have seen him, and I dont know if id rather refer to him as slender, or Dër Rïttër.

I just want to know, if anyone on this sight can relate to the figure that I saw.

To be honest, a lot of creepypastas were taken from very old mythologies and filigreed a little, thus creating thought forms of the new versions with so many people sharing it. The creator of Slenderman said he imagined him freely, maybe he did, or maybe he connected to otherwise known "Der Ritter" unconsciously, like some authors do. Fact is, there are sightings before Slenderman was created which are very similar to him in appearance and story. I've been researching such stuff intensely back then, as these tellings naturally peak my interest 1spt I dreamed of him once, not sure if he was saying "hi" or if it was just a random dream but it was creeping me out a bit xD

I think as time passes, some beings of old which we have known under different names have to take on new appearances matching our time period for whatever reason, like Slender first being portrayed as a knight and now as a man in a suit. I would guess it's better for an approach to not look like you're from the 1800's^^ but I wonder, how have you seen him?

i was outside one night in Wisconsin having a smoke on my porch, and theres a woods near by.
it was snowing and theres a small building located JUST outside the woods and theres one lonely street lamp in its parking lot, i saw a humanoid figure standing to be about 8-10 feet tall, and the only reason i say its Der Ritter, is due to the, what i presume to have been, libms pertruding from its sides or back.

What do you mean by 'heavily involved'? Hot and heavy? Sounds fun.

That wood carving you saw was in all likelihood photoshopped. You're not going to find any 'legit mythology' about Slenderman beyond his modern-day conception. That's the point, however. Once the mythology is created, it gains sustenance.
Slender is a face (oh the irony), a tulpic manifestation.. no less real in this regard, but also frequently used as a form by other beings.

Heavily involved meaning looking into past mythologies and civilizations to see if there were other beings that remotely resembled him.

That is definitely creepy to imagine. It could very well have been a being taking this form to give you a scare or the thought form itself... but I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you don't see it all the time ;)
