Introducing house rules to the spirit(s)

Postby divineseeker » Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:48 pm

Hello,

I was looking at some of the interesting house rules compilations here in the forums.I am wondering, for a person who has no abilities in sensing spirits nor having any kind of gifts, when would be the right time introducing the house rules to the spirit?

Should one just go ahead and say the rules once the vessel arrives or wait till one sees the spirit give any signs of presence? Or introdude the house rules after the bonding period is over? 1h

Hi

My own thoughts, based on what I've learned..

If you have dark arts spirits the house rules mentioned by Ash somewhere in the encyclopaedia seem to be the thing to adopt. I guess even with one spirit and as soon as they arrive (or if they contact you while on their way, then, perhaps). The shop sells the 10 house rules as a poster.

If you only have white arts spirits some house rules are also thought to be a good idea. The white arts are meant do no wrong anyway. There is a White Arts book by Magnolia -Power of the Light. 3 house rules are given there.

Even with only 'white'/ light spirits from different metaphysical sellers where you're not sure if they each mean exactly the same thing when they call their spirits white or light natured, house rules could be a very good precaution. The main things for a white arts type spirit group/family seem to be mutual respect and doing no harm to those in your home.

You can hang the rules up where they can be seen but probably also read them out to your whole spirit family, out loud or telepathically.

I think it may vary from one conjurer to another and from one spirit to another as to how dark or rebellious or willing to do harm the spirit is willing to be. The house rules give them boundaries which they apparently usually respect.

It was only after I got a Sin Eater (pretty dark) and had several days of continuous migraines - a unique experience for me - that I read a really good tip on this forum: you can ask new dark spirits to tone down any acting up or migraines during their initial period of adjustment with you. I understand they will usually respond well to such a request.

I have the Ash’s da house rules poster. I take it out for all my keep to see from time to time as a reminder and will read out loud. Then will say whatever extra rules I may have for the time, then will offer tasks for them if they are up to it.

First question, when is it a good time? Answer: ANYTIME. You just have to call your spirits/entities to you, all of them or one by one anyway that rock your boat (for me when i have something for all I just call all at once so I don't have to repeat like an idiot), and once you finish calling them, just tell them I have a house rules for all to abide to and it is this this this this this and this. It is good to write them down so you don't miss and you have to repeat them. It doesn't matter you can see them or feel them or know them. You can't see them doesn't mean they can't see you.

And it doesn't matter if you have white art or grey art or dark art, they should all be the same and abide by the same rule so you do not have to segregate them and tell them YOU YOU YOU and YOU have 3 rules and YOU YOU YOU YOU and that fat fella YOU have 12 rules. Chances are they won't wanna chew your head off but lets be realistic... if your mum does that to you (the one with more rules) vs telling your brother and sisters whom have lesser rules, you will not feel nice too. Its better to just give them the same rules and even if you know the WA one wont give you the problems. For example, you know the WA wont go harass your pets but the DA ones will so you want to put that as house rules for the DA. It would't make a difference if you set that "Do not harass the pets" on both spectrum right? But, as I said earlier, it doesn't really matter any way as most of them wont mind. I just say this for simplicity and for "Fairness" to all of them.

Next thing to keep in mind, do you really really really need a house rules? well, it depends on ppl really. If you ask me I will say no, you do not need house rules. Unless one of them started to create problem then you can call that particular one out and tell him off and tell him that that that is off limit. Some of them have slightly different "morals/society rules" on their side so they might not know or some of them, esp the darker arts don't realise that it is not appropriate HERE and you just have to tell them that. If you are worried and you just wanna be safe, sure.. set some rules but I think its funny that way. To be on the table, i am the minority in these type of thinking rather than the majority, the so call "odd" one out. I give them all the freedom in the world except TWO rules and the rules kicked in later on due to me having Black arts, not before i have the Black Arts in my keep. So, you can think it through and make that decision.

I however, do have a few other things set in place to keep orders though but that is another thing and its not about house rules as per se so i will not bore you with it.

THank you for writings. Yes I do think house rules can be a precauution, regardless having dark or white arts beings. .

Yes saw the poster it had all the things covered, but I also saw some more things from the previous posts here that can be used as house rules too. I am writing down myself few things. Thank you for the post.

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes I tooo think now, anytime is good time and the same rules for all. Only that it feels odd for me reading a list of rules without knowing they are there or not, or whether they are listening or not. Nevertheless will do that anyway. Thank you

I agree with wolves, I have the same set of house rules for everyone WA, DA etc.
As soon as I get the vessel or a binding is done, I welcome them and merge with their energy so I can feel their "signature". Then I tell them what the rules are as soon as they arrive so there are no misunderstandings.

First time read to all. Consequently you can elect a member you think is a good leader and you can ask them refer to the list if you made a list and ask the leader if he do not understand and ask the leader to guide him on the house rules. It's faster and leaves no loop holes just in case you progressed and forgot to update the rules. Reading to them can also be part of the binding i guess which i know done ppl did. Ice breaker so to speak.
