Bringing home a new Djinn companion can be intimidating as much as it is exciting. This is a How-To to help you welcome your Djinn companion and establish a great connection from the start. This information and guidance can be used with any Djinn that you conjure yourself, you have conjured on your behalf, or any unbound visiting you and you have given permission to stay.
This applies to Pre-Islamic, Islamic, Arabic, Egyptian, African and Norse Djinn.
Invocation for Initial Bonding With Djinn
Once your Djinn arrives recite this invocation at any time, out loud or through telepathy:
Last the night
Break the day
Wake the sun, wake the moon
All bindings through the cosmos
You are unto me!
A spirit of my own keeping!
As master to servant so it is a Friend to a Friend!
How-to Establish Contact With Djinn
Usually Spirit Keepers feel an energy connection right away with a new companion, but if you don’t, or you want to make sure you are on the right track, here are some helpful tips.
Slumber Connection
Keep your Djinn companion with you at night while you sleep. If you have a vessel for your Djinn, it is best to keep the vessel within five feet of your bed while you slumber. Djinn, like most spirits, have the ability to visit and manifest to you while you sleep. They can visit and engage with you through dreams – sharing insight, their lifetime memories, showing you scenarios related to your life, and helping you gain perspective from their point of view.
Quiet Time and Meditation
Meditate with your Djinn between the hours of 12am-1am, 3pm-4pm, or 7pm-8pm for the best results and experiences. Utilizing a thinner veil between the Earthen and Spiritual Realms can help you springboard communication – especially if you feel you are not the best at quiet meditation and reflection. Meditation doesn’t have to be a big show, it can be just as simple as sitting in “Quiet Time” with your Djinn. Allow your mind to flow freely with thoughts and do not direct the focus of your mind and thoughts.
Scented Connection
Light candles that are lavender-scented in your altar space or personal area. You can also use incense, room spray, essential oils, or any other aromatic source as long as they are lavender-scented. Djinn are attracted to lavender, a secondary favorite is Iris. You do not need to let the lavender-scented offering burn more than 10-15 minutes.
Connection Through Conversation
Use verbal communication with your Djinn in the morning hours. The break of day and the first few following hours are a spiritual time. If you are just establishing your communication skills, talking with your Djinn will be the easiest in the morning. It is also a great time for you to discuss goals, tasks, thoughts, and share random insights.
Don’t be afraid to chit-chat with your Djinn even if it is through thought (telepathy). Sharing and showing them your life will speed up the bonding process. From the little insignificant details to big decisions your Djinn wants to be included.
Keep in mind that while it seems hard to get started, there will come a day when spirit communication and interaction will simply be second-nature for you.
What Offerings to Leave Djinn?

Otherwise, most Djinn do not typically like food to be left as an offering. They take a traditional stance on drawing a line between their responsibilities and you. If you have a Djinn companion and want to show your appreciation, you can partake in a Djinn ritual or spend extra time with them in conversation.

Djinn Ritual of Communication
This is a great ritual you can perform to show appreciation for your Djinn companion. It can be performed at any time.
All Djinn
Supplies needed:
Fresh or dried lavender
Bowl
Paper
Set the bowl in front of you. On a piece of paper write the name of the Djinn you are wishing to communicate with, and if you have multiple Djinn you can write all of their names.
Write a short and personal message on the paper (using the front and back if needed), and fold the paper small enough to fit into the bowl. Place the paper at the bottom of the bowl, then pour the lavender on top of the paper.
Then recite out loud or through telepathy:
I welcome you with an open heart and mind
Seeking to create a lasting and true bond
Every moment fortifying alignment between us
Focusing on all that is important and essential
Fulfilling destiny and potential in harmony
Leave everything in the bowl for 24 hours. After which time, you can remove the lavender for use again. You can dispose of the paper however you feel is best.
Islamic Djinn
Supplies needed:
2 lavender-scented candles
White sheet
Sand
Paper
Lay the white sheet out (it doesn’t have to be large, it can even be the size of a handkerchief).
Place the candles at either end of the sheet and light them both.
Take your sheet of paper and write a blessing on it – such as “May Allah bless and keep you” or “May Allah find favor in you today”, – any good thought that projects positive light.
Pour sand in the middle of sheet. With a bowed head and your hands over the sand and paper say:
All good things grow of good things
I will remember to keep and spread
The blessings bestowed by Allah
With respect, love and honor
Pour the sand in your hands and bow to each candle. Spend a moment in reflection, then blow out the candles, wrap up the sheet, bag the sand and keep them for another day.
Fold the paper and keep it on your person for 24 hours as a reminder of your promise to spread blessings.
This shows reverence and will go a long way to showing your djinn your appreciation and improving your karma to receive even more blessings.
The Powers of the Djinn
Exactly how powerful are Djinn?
Djinn encompasses a large species with thousands of different races. Every race of Djinn has their own characteristics, powers, and abilities. There are some common traits in terms of hierarchy and power in comparison to other species. However, it is always advisable to read a lot of material about a race of Djinn you want to work with prior to performing any kind of ritual or conjuration on your own.
Djinn are one of the few living entities who can pass between Realms without restriction. This applies to the majority of Djinn races. Most Spiritual Realm and Astral Realm Djinn exist between the Astral, Earthen, and Spiritual Realms. In their respective home realm they are second only to Immortal beings (such as Allah for Islamic Djinn), and therefore they are often classed with powerful entities such as Angels and even their adversaries like demons.
When a living Djinn passes into the Spiritual Realm they are capable of bending and manipulating the perception of others to other beings and their powers. As living entities, the Djinn govern and supersede some other living entities, establishing authority and dominance in some cases. Living Djinn can change the patterns, rhythm, direction, and manifestation of energy the Spiritual Realm.
In the Earthen Realm Djinn are capable of manifesting in physical form. The most common form of manifestation is smoke or mist. They are also capable of polymorphing into humans, animals, plants and even inanimate objects. Their sense of reality is not what humans know and is not what humans are capable of comprehending.
Djinn in spirit form have a variety of different attributes and characteristics. While their total influence and power is marginalized in spirit form, they are still quite the formidable companion whose powers and abilities will exceed many other species. It’s important to read and understand about the Djinn spirit companion you want to bring into your life and companion family.
How Do I Make Wishes to Djinn?
This is a personal preference. There are many ways to make known your wishes to your Djinn:
– Vocal statement– Telepathy– Integration– Written statement– Ceremony
Over time you will use all of the above methods on numerous occasions.
You can verbalize your wish to your Djinn companion when spending time with them via quiet time or meditation.
You can talk to your Djinn through thought (telepathy) as this provides a private way to communicate your thoughts and wishes.
The longer your Djinn companion is with you, the more they become a part of your journey and they will know your secret wishes and burning desires – sometimes predicting them before you!
You can write your wishes on paper in a simple ceremony. Write your wish from your heart, using as much information as needed.
Fold the paper to fit into a fire-safe container. Then recite out loud or through telepathy:
I send this wish from my heart
That you, my Djinn guide, shall grant it
Through your ties and powers with the Universe
Manifest my wish in positive power
Through my journey and destiny
Then burn the paper in a fire-safe container until the paper is reduced to ashes. Then, take the ashes and blow them into the wind while you keep your mind focused on your wish and the desired outcome.
