Banshees are spirits who are messengers of the Underworld. They are also known as an omen of death when they appear to a person of full Irish descent. They are powerful go-betweens for facilitating communication between people and spirits. The fastest way to commune directly with a Bannik is to have fresh eggplant, cut it in half, gut it and rinse out the shell. Pour fresh thyme in the shell and hold the vessel of your Bannik and eggplant shell together in both hands (side by side). While you are holding them invite the Bannik to come to you.

Amarok are feared creatures who appeared as giant wolves. Their fur can be of any color and pattern. Their eyes can be any color and an sometimes be two different colors. They are typically around 6’-8’ from nose-to-tail, with giant paws, and around 250-300 pounds. They are muscular creatures with an imposing, impressive presence. They were merciless against those who traveled in the dark cloak of night.

The Amarok could be lone hunters or group hunters who were believed to seek out and devour those who were up to no good after sunset. However, the Amarok were far less choosy and as opportunists would hunt anything that came out in the dark of night.  They were territorial by nature and would stake out a section of land for themselves or their pack.  They preferred caves or dense forests that were adjacent to wide-open areas where they could easily observe opportunities to hunt.
