Apsaras are female forest and water spirits. They are usually benevolent, sometimes increasing good fortune, especially in games of chance. They are very beautiful and live in either fig or banana trees. They are spirits of sex and fertility. Apsaras are celestial dancers. They serve as attendants to Kama, Lord of Love.

They manifest as either mermaids or beautiful women. They can transform into bird-women when they choose to fly, or they ride the clouds. They love anything shiny, like jewelry, mirrors, or magic knives. Their element is water.
