RANKING OUT OF 5 SKULLS
During the making of German classic Nosferatu-Eine Symphonie des Grauens (Nosferatu-a Symphony of Horror), a tale of strange things including crew disappearence and deaths plague the making of the 1922 silent film. The Shadow of the Vampire takes focus of the difficult relationship amongst the director and lead actor, Murnau and Schreck.
Benny: Good flick, a really interesting twist, good enough to stand on its own as a Nosferatu movie.
Rudy: I really love this movie as a Vampire film, and as a downright creepy film. Something about this movie really excited me as a Vampire film lover (and often disappointed). I think it was their ability to genuinely capture the time period as well as Schreck's place within it.
