A word that originates from Greek roots and means "doesn't know"; translating to mean "doesn't know" whether or not a God exists. Agnosticism rose to fame in 1869 through T.H. Huxley. People who claim Agnosticism believe there is not sufficient proof on either side to prove or disprove an existence of a higher being of God status. Agnostics typically believe that humans will never know if there is a God, or there may be sufficient proof when humans reach a certain level of ascension, or they simple don't care one way or another.
