Bindings are created in several possible ways:
- A practitioner can create a binding for you.
- You can use a proper tool made by a practitioner to create a binding yourself.
- You can use a proper spell written by a practitioner to create a binding yourself.
A binding is a specific conduit of communication and interaction that is unique to you and the spirit. It is a direct line to the spirit that is specific and protected between the two of you. It does not effect free will in any way, shape, or form. Nothing is forced, and requires permission from you both. You both can choose to interact and communicate as you feel is best at any time.
Bindings are protected in order to preserve the respect and privacy of you both. This keeps outsiders from being able to pry into your connection and bond, into the spirit’s presence and their privacy, and from being able to detect you are a Spirit Keeper. This is one of the covenants of Spirit Keeping – respect and privacy must be preserved at all times.
