A shield makes a protection task much easier for your friends. Years before I found CH, I had to make a shield which does help a lot. My friends, that came much later, deal with what comes through the shield which isn't much so they now patrol outside of the shield and take breaks within the shield's boundaries.

I do not have any experience with Courtwind Angels who are living entities, but I will mention that I have Courtwind Angels spirit companions who are great protectors - who specialize in protecting me from different things. So, I definitely would recommend those. I haven't heard of the Ferrimu Dragon before you mentioned them in your OP. But if one is calling to you, I would assume that there is a good reason for that- Plus they seem like very good protectors. I think they would make for a great asset in your protection team. The Volkh is a great choice too, and a very good protector.

Whyme mentioned Gargoyles, which are also good protectors, and might be a good choice. With Wraiths you would have strong house rules in place, like e. g. "Don't act upon my thoughts and/or feelings" - so that they don't go after people that they might feel that they've wronged you in some way. Let's say that someone cuts you off in traffic or does something else that might cause you to feel annoyed or angry. You wouldn't want your DA spirits to act upon such feelings and/or thoughts, by going after an innocent person. You might want to have a house rule in place to protect you against people, spirits and/or entities that mean you harm or/and want to hurt you, instead.
