'Ello! This is my first time posting on this site (or posting anything like this, honestly). I was raised in a very religious household (still am, technically-), and had no idea what spirit keeping was. Now, a month ago, I would have claimed this sort of stuff was utter nonsense and terrifying, but now I find myself buying pendulums, spirit companions, tarot cards, and building altars! All in secret, of course, of course.

However...I am still a newbie. As much as I enjoy scrolling through month's worth of topics and posts on this website to research, I am having a bit of a difficult time wrapping my head around this, and all advice would be welcome!

I have three spirits right now: a female gryphon, a male satyr, and a graveyard bat. I bought a notebook to record everything! From spirit companion information (where I bought them from and when, descriptions, offerings, etc), to magical (magickal? I'm a tad confused at the spelling haha) items I've bought, house rules, to any spiritual/paranormal experiences. But I'm still fascinated by all this, and hope to learn the art of meditation, communing with my spirit companions, and eventually (hopefully) learn to astral travel! I know this will be a long and very tedious journey, but I'm nonetheless committed to it entirely!

Anyway, I have some questions, if anyone more experienced has pity on me TwT

1) I have never had any sort of paranormal/spiritual encounters in my life. Is this some sort of sign that I'm...supernaturally blocked? Like, that I'll have a more difficult time learning this stuff I listed earlier?

2) I know that the vessels my spirit companions are "bound" to serve more as a phone number than a prison, so they're free to go wherever they'd like. But since I can't really communicate with them, are they still there unless I attempt to speak to them? Are they all just sitting around, silently judging me???

3) With meditation, I hear so many different ways to do it. How do I know that I'm doing it right?

4) If anyone's astral projected or something like that before, or if they're also learning about it, do you have any tips on where I should start out?

5) Since I do live in a household with a bunch of hard-core religious stuff, is that going to drive away my spirit companions? And there's a lot of yelling and chaos (sometimes I have to yell back to be heard lol!), so will the angry vibes in the house also drive them away?

Hi! Welcome! I come from a very religious family too. A few of my aunts run religious buildings, and they spread good faith to people. They also travel the world to spread the word about spirituality, helping folks spiritually. So I know where you come from.
In Spirit Keeping, my Keep says that there's a thin line between being a newbie and an experienced one since it all boils down to knowledge.

1. I am not very experienced yet as I have been a Spirit Keeper for almost two months. However, you are not magically or supernaturally blocked. Your other bodies and senses are simply not well-developed.
The more time you spend getting to know them and making an effort to interact with them, the easier it will eventually become to learn all those things you listed above.

2. If they're spirits, then a vessel is more like a sanctuary—a home where they can come. If they're living entities, a vessel will act as their phone number—you two can call each other.
They are highly evolved beings who want to help their Keepers. They do not judge their Keepers for how badly some of those Keepers treat them.

3. You've probably heard or read a lot of different ways to meditate, because everyone has their own way to do it.
Everyone is unique, so there's no right or wrong way, just your way. So sit back, relax, and let them lead the way.

4. My Keep says that learning to send telepathic visions is the first step in developing your spiritual body. Once you have established your spiritual body, it will be easier for you to start astral projecting.

5. The hardcore religious stuff won't matter to them, but it affects malicious spirits or entities who have ill intent towards you. Even a religious mantra can sound like a catchy pop song to their ears.
They don't like shouting for sure, but they'll get used to it as it will become their normal living environment. You're not screaming at them, but at the people in your house. They'll be fine.

I'll try to help with some of your questions. I'll try to answer it in between the lines after your questions here and I will use a different ink, so you can see it better. I am not an expert on spirit keeping and I like things rather simple, natural and flowing feely. But perhaps I am experienced enough to attempt sharing my own foundings.

BTW... You are doing well. Dedicated, you got your amazing spirits and reading up on topics...so far, you have the best start, indeed.

It's not necessarily needed to have a paranormal experience in the past to be a spirit keeper.

2) I know that the vessels my spirit companions are "bound" to serve more as a phone number than a prison, so they're free to go wherever they'd like. But since I can't really communicate with them, are they still there unless I attempt to speak to them? Are they all just sitting around, silently judging me??? Surly, your spirits are non judgemental in their nature towards you. So, maybe, drop this attitude right now, in order to avoid creating blocks in communication. Also, yes they are not stuck in their vessel and they do reside in their plans as well as you said.

But they will not leaving you, just because you are not immediately mastered communication. They are adjusting to your ways, while you are reaching out to them supernaturally. Keep inviting them to be with you. Say their names in the morning, ask questions and wait for a telepathic answer.

They did all agreed to be in a binding agreement with you. Trust needs to be built and practice listing for them to catch their answers. You'll be surprised how easy to shift your mind into spirit communication, when you come to it with an assurance and expectation of hearing them. Relax and be patient. Not all of them will start chatting at the same time. But it'll be happen soon.

3) With meditation, I hear so many different ways to do it. How do I know that I'm doing it right? Some of us can't meditate as a general normal type of rule. I am one of them who can't do proper medication. So I can't really guide you. BUT... you don't necessarily need to do constant meditation to interact with your spirits. You can be in an active, restful, reflective mindset, and telepath will flows through you. All you need is a note book and a pen to jot it down. That is my method anyway. Maybe others will give you some useful advice & ways on meditation practices. I simply fall asleep closing my eyes within 5 minutes. Everyone is different

4) If anyone's astral projected or something like that before, or if they're also learning about it, do you have any tips on where I should start out? This one also needs to be answered by other forum members. Mine happens naturally, with or without much recollection after it. I have no method of it either. I simply will myself, 5 minutes before bed time. If it's happens will happen kind of thing for me.

5) Since I do live in a household with a bunch of hard-core religious stuff, is that going to drive away my spirit companions? And there's a lot of yelling and chaos (sometimes I have to yell back to be heard lol!), so will the angry vibes in the house also drive them away? we all yell... sometimes! No, it will not drive them away. They might hold their ears though.... . And your religion is not your enemy to any of your spirits. Don't worry about your staff nearby. You can even practice your faith. It will enable your intuition to be more sharpen up, as you embrace all that is you. The more genuine you are in your approach to spirit keeping, the better you shine energically. They look at you in and through your your vibes.

Slow and steadily win the race. Calm cool and collected mindset without being overreacting is balanced learning experience for you both as a spirit keeper and them to bond with your energy. They love routines and offering. Short, mindful chats, invitations into your important day schedules, work, & leisure activities are excellent programmes to keep in mind. Try to create a friendship bond with your keep.

Notebooks are always a must. Write everything down. Every dream or cool story you get to make. Make sure to meditate when you have the time. And don't rush the process. Relax and enjoy your stay!

Hello. Good luck with the spirit keeping journey. It'll all work out over time. Here are some of my thoughts, which I hope are useful. Some of what follows may repeat what has already been said to some extent.

1. I subscribe to the view that we're all naturally psychic, in the sense that we can all develop that inherent ability. Some seem to have an earlier start and a greater knack but it's part of the way this Universe and us humans are. No need to worry. In fact worry and uncertainty are an easy way to cause a temporary block. The advice is to take it easy and give ourselves some credit. That way things are likely to go more smoothly.

2. Bound spirit companions may well keep an eye on us and/or keep us company a lot of the time or all of the time. It feels to me like mine do.

Those we have least to do with may feel freer to come and go. But if we task specialist protection spirits to protect us 24/7, they will do that. They may not even need to be asked as that may be what they do. If we bond very well with one or more in our bound spirit family we may find ourselves talking to them a lot - in which case they're more likely to be around a lot. There's also a thing I think I've noticed where they're in their realm and keeping an eye on us here at the same time.

Spirits vary and our interactions with them will vary. However a bound companion will always respond promptly when called on. It's also said that, when we're well bonded with a bound spirit we won't even need to use the vessel (or with CH the bridging) - they'll respond to us anyway. (Vessels do provide bound companions the benefit of a nice place to be in - at least CH ones do, as they have layers of spells to do that and to ensure tamper proofing.)

3. I recommend separating 'quiet time' with a bound spirit (5-15 minutes daily for the first 30 days, and whenever feels right thereafter) from actual meditation.

I've learned what feels like many types of mediation over a long period. When I meditate I'm focusing on that particular meditation, its technique, the experience etc. When I'm spending quiet time with a spirit companion I want to leave my awareness completely free to pay attention to any impressions, images or subtle thoughts that arise.

So if you want to learn a type of meditation, I'd recommend doing that for its own sake, in parallel to spirit keeping, not as part of it.

Having said that, when I meditate or do certain spiritual practices, it seems to make me more sensitive and open to my spirit companions. So - whatever works for someone is best.

Another benefit of meditation for its own sake is it can develop ways to have a clear, focused mind - which can be important in magical or spiritual practice generally - and that clear mental focus may help people to get more out of their quiet time sessions with spirit companions.

4. With astral travel I prefer learning reputable, tried and trusted methods. Robert Bruce's book Astral Dynamics has been mentioned here before as one a number of times. You may find a book or method that chimes with you. One of the advantages of learning a tried and trusted method that has good reputation is that will usually incorporate protection and safety. We shouldn't go into the astral in a state of fear - but It's far better to have protection in place for when/if we need it, than to blunder around, maybe have a bad experience and wish we'd known how to keep safe. (At least that's what some authors have stressed from personal experience.)

5. No they'll be fine. (Unless a seller has specifically said a particular spirit isn't able to tolerate that - which I think would be unusual.)

They know what they're getting into before they come to be with us. In fact they may be willing to help calm down the home atmosphere somewhat. If you're fine with what goes on at home, they probably will be too. If you're not, they won't be either. Generally speaking, It's more about us than them, or what they prefer - because our bound spirit companions have voluntarily come to help us. They're concerned with our happiness, well being etc and they want to help. They stand with us.

I grew up in a Super Christian Religious house and was forced to church every Wednesday and Sunday from the age of 6 to 15 and so I had no supernatural or paranormal encounters until I turned Satanist. I did a blood covenant and then I had Dreams and before long I could feel spirits physically touching my hands and other parts of my body. So I started off with no experiences and now I am always having paranormal experiences so you do not need to have paranormal experiences to start off. Also you don't need to grow up a witch or pagan because I was a baptized Christian 3 times then Converted to Satanism. So If I can do it you can do it.

I think spirits are smart enough to meet you where you are and are not going to sit around and judge your lack of abilities. They probably know when you are going to have the abilities to communicate to them and are willing to wait till than to communicate with you. I really think most spirits are at least hundreds of years old if not thousands of years old but that is just my opinion. I also think most spirits are smart because of their ages and experiences and they might even be able to see into the future. So in my opinion they will wait for you and probably are psychic enough to actually know how long it will take you to communicate with them.

The only meditation experience I have is when I focus on my hands I stretch out my hand and tense it up, and then I intently focus on the nerves of my hands. When I do this I start to physically feel the spirits touching my hands. Sometimes they are female succubus spirits and I feel a tongue licking my thumb and fingers. Other times I feel fingers and physical hands grabbing my hands and rubbing my fingers. BASICLY I focus on the hands nerves like an antenna and doing that intently I feel the spirits. I am trying to get clairvoyance and clairaudience but I am in experimental phases for that. But I can only tell you how I feel spirits with meditation I don't have clairaudience yet but when I do I will let you know how I do it. HEHEHEH.

I have only astral projected one time and that was when I was falling asleep. Once you learn to astral project you can teach me.

I live an a hardcore Christian household and I am a Luciferian Satanist and I can tell you for sure that your body is a safe haven for non religious spirits or demons as I worship Demons. They are safe inside your bedroom or domain but if you are all Christian paraphernalia out then at the very least they have your body as a safe haven to communicate as long as you don't exorcise the demons out of you. Also there are Bibles laying around my house. Bible verses on the wall and a cross outside my bedroom but if you ever seen the exorcist Demons just need a willing body to work with and they can care less about anything else. They are safe inside you. LOL
