recently i found myself at a local borders to get bev the paperback "frankenstein" by mary shelley for her brit lit class. now i always take a trip through the occult/metaphysical section whenever i'm there and this trip led me to a rather large informational book titled "the element encyclopedia of secret signs and symbols" by adele nozedar.

i've found this book to be intriguing in that it has from alchemy to zodiac with descriptions of magick signs/symbols to nature of the divine with deities from most cultures being listed; rites, rituals, customs and observances; the body as a sacred map and so much more! i have found this extremely interesting and figured some of you might as well. take care, arsine

The Element Encyclopedia series has some pretty interesting stuff indeed. I have the element encyclopedia of secret societies, vampires, and 5000 spells. Many of the spells are more reference or of interest historically, either way I would highly recommend any of their books.

One great way to get them is joining the One Spirit Book Club; you only have to buy a few more books to fulfill membership obligation then cancel/suspend your membership and usually after a few months, they want you back as a member and offer the same 4 free books deal all over.(you have to pay for shipping) Plus they send you emails when the book of the month will be offered, you reply stating that you don't want it, within a certain time frame, and if you happen to miss the time and they mail the book out, you just write "return to sender" without opening it. This is how I've gotten some of the Element Encyclopedia's and other books as well as tarot sets. I've been doing this off and on over the years, and as long as you keep your account in good standing, they don't seem to mind. Another good place similiar to amazon.com is http://www.alibris.com I always check both site when looking for books.
