:woohoo: so I know how to sort of heal with energy, but I was wonder about reiki *i think i spelled that wrong* but I was wonder what it does? how to do it? like basics? can you heal yourself? what does it feel like?
I'm wondering this because I want to try it myself, with my own energy, but I'm a big noob lol :help: :thought:

Hi Corina8!

Well i am from Austria and i work with Reiki since a few years. Not commercially, but for friends,
family, myself and so on.

Reiki basicly utalizes the, as they call it, "life energy" surrounding us all the time.
Simply speaking it gets "sucked" in through the Ajna Chakra, thats the 7th Chakra which sits
on your head like a thousand pedald lotus looking upwards.

From there it flows through your body until it reaches the heartchakra.

Then it follows along your arms until it "spreads out" again from the palms of your
hands. There are some japanese techniques in which you learn how
to "send" the energy through your sight. But i prefer the hands since you can aquire
a sense for the intensity of the flow from the energy, telling you where more is
needed while you treat a person.
It often leads you to the cause of whichever condition it is your healing.

Well so much for that.

I wont go much in the history of reiki, but it origins from japan. (Dr. Usui)

While there always is energy in yourself which you can give to others by intention,
it is your own. And you can drain yourself. Another thing is the colour of
your energy. You always give some kind of energy, depending on your focus,
your own health state and so on. Its like a rainbow. There are good, and not
so good energies. Like when your realy upset or angry, you spread this kind of energy.

Reiki filters this energy and takes it from the universe, so that the energy you give
after an Reiki Attunement is always pure, dosent drain yourself out and always helps.
even if the treated person absolutly does not believe in any kind of energy work,
they will feel it! Headaches, Tooth aches and so on. Its fantastic!

They say like: Well i dont belive in all this humbug, but reiki you know, it just works!

But as you hear, an attunement is essential. Traditionally Reiki has 3 Grades and thats it.

But over the years there have sprouted so many modalitys and side systems gathering wonderfull
energies and possibilities. Something i am looking into taking myself soon is
"brahma Satya Reiki" which claimes to be even stronger.

Another great thing for strengthening your energies are Mantras in the Sanskrit Toung.
You have to repeat them 108 times to send them through all of your Nadis, Main Energy Roots originating from the Heart Chakra,
but they do the job! And its a good Meditation exercise since you focus.

Good job explaining Barc.

In simple terms:
Reiki energy flows 'through' you , it does not come 'from' you.
Reiki goes where it is needed, not always where you think it needs to go.
The ability to work with Reiki energy is passed from teacher to student via a series of 'attunements'.
There is no way to get Reiki except thru an attunement.
People who have Reiki often have hands that are warmer than normal.

I will share that my teacher had a little dog who was hit by a car. This little dog was very small and hairless.
He healed from the accident and he also grew long, silky, curly hair too ! It was so strange to see!

I'm going to try reiki myself in hopes that I can master it. How long does it take to master it? like barcarana how long did it take you to master?

Corina dear, there is nothing to master.

You must be attuned by a Reiki master to use Reiki. There are a series of 3 attunements to reach the master level.

The attunement causes the Reiki energy to flow thru you. .

You need only use the proper symbol you are given at the first attunement to start the flow of energy thru you.

At the second attunement, you are given the symbol (and it is put in your aura) to do long distance healing.

At the 3rd attunement (Master level) you age given the symbols and the ability to attune others.

A book can teach you the Reiki symbols, but without the attunement by a Reiki Master, you can not channel that energy.

Another key benefit from being a Reiki Practitioner, that some Master/Teachers forget to cover is the enhancements it makes to your spiritual well-being and growth. Reiki is a very effectively system for enhancing one's own Psychic abilities. Also, it can be used for more than healing others (people and animals), you can use it for helping to heal locations, situations and even in principle send healing back/forward in time to support difficult situations.
