Ok, so I went ahead and did it. I got a Syr Ifrit. And I felt a cold wave of air around my feel while I was completing the transaction. So one more question about these particular ifrits: do they prefer a friendly or a demanding keeper? Cause I don't know if I'm too friendly even for my Marids, although I already have house rules for them. God I hope they don't want a b*tchy keeper cause someone will have to give me seminars to be like that! Gwen said though that they're well mannered and well behaved so I still have hope :mrgreen:

A more general question: how do people who have ifrits word their wishes? From what I gather the phrase "without harming anyone" may have a different meaning for an ifrit than it has for us so do you explain the situation in detail and be specific of what you don't wish to happen while the djinn is working on your wish?

I'm glad you purchased your ifrit, it can be such a rewarding experience :thumbup: . In regards to wording wishes, it varies from person to person but if you are dealing with djinn, I would caution to ALWAYS use the phrase that you used or in my case "and let no harm come to anyone involved". I'll give you an example. If you had a love-related wish, I would suggest describing the situation to the djinn and detailing what you want and what you do not want to happen.


For example, let's say you want a specific man to fall in love with you asap. You could tell your djinn "I want him to fall in love with me asap" but "I do not want him to feel or end up being obsessive, possessive, and jealous towards me around other men or my friends and family". In my opinion the feeling and meaning of falling in love can vary from each person. If not worded correctly, the djinn can make that person fall in love with you but there may come a downside....like the man may be so in love with you that he calls you every 5 minutes everyday for months or even years on end when you are at school or working or sleeping.


Another example (and I hope most sincerely that this never happens to anyone) is that you have a money-related wish. Let's say that you made a wish to your djinn asking for money. For instance "I want to receive or have $100,000 by the end of this month"...the djinn can make that happen but if not worded correctly and with loopholes, they can have someone in the family pass away and leave you an inheritance of $100,000. In this instance, I would recommend "and let no physical or fatal harm come to anyone involved" and "I want to win this money through casino gambling".


I hope this helps . As for how they like their keepers to be in terms of personality, I haven't been told anything by my syr ifrit that I am soft or harsh. I tend to be very affectionate and loving towards my spirits because I believe you should treat others the way you would like to be treated :thumbup: . But because of my situation with what happened with her and the feeling of devastation that I felt afterwards I think was coming from her so that let me know that she didn't want us to part, so that tells me that I must be doing something right :thumbup:

BTW - Cranky - did you say you were putting your Syr Ifrit on vacation for the summer because you were focusing on magickal spirits? I just have to say, these Syr Ifrits are specialists in magick and are very helpful In my view, they are magickal priestesses - or at least, mine is. In the listing it does talk of some of their helpful magickal attributes.

-Success in all Magick endeavors of black or white persuasion
-Psychic Abilities
-Past life knowledge and recognition and receiving of powers you held them
-Raising of energies

And I think it was in that thread I had mentioned how she helps to cast a circle around me as I work with magick. I normally cast a circle through mental visualizations, and she amped it up with her additions, she acts like a Priestess of magick and does it ceremonially while I do it in my mind, which is really helpful!

Having researched Djinns (a bit) I am really, reeeeeeeeeeaaaaally interested in one of these Djinns.

I am new to Spirit-Keeping, but not new to being firm and the "this is what I want" concept.

My primary concern is that I wish to earn a particular amount per week, and then I was going to increase the amount I wish to earn each week, each month (so I would become accustomed to my increasing income) until I reach my desired amount of income a week. (And, then, I would breathe a huge sigh of relief as my financial stresses would be over! :party:: :party:: :party:: :party:: :party:: )



I did [think I wanted to earn a certain amount a week, BUT I thought that "suddenly" having an increase in income would be a bit much for me to handle from coming from where I am. So, I've decided to reassess what I "thought" I wanted, and to start smaller, and then to ramp up the income as I become used to earning the income.

I haven't tried anything like that so I can't answer your question, but I do recall the listing saying that these djinn were the protectors of Syr's wealth, so I don't see why not. I've written before that mine seems to like money and power(to bring it to me I mean). It was not what I wanted, at least at the moment, so I have her working on other tasks but I believe she would be happy to work on bringing me more money. If you Xcode to go ahead with your plan keep us updated!
