Time On The Astral Plane

I've heard and even read in posts in here that time on the astral plane doesn't exists. That a person can spend years on the astral plane in a single night here. How much of that is true, and what are your experiences with long periods of time on the astral plane? Thanks.

Time is subjective, even in this plane time is not defined the same, here on Earth, we have defined one year as 365 days. On Mars a year is longer, and a day may be a different length of time as well instead of 24 hours it could be the equivalent of 26 to us. By the way I'm using our units of time since I have no other reference to go by. My astral self has existed for millennia, both because the flow of time where he lives is different than here and because he hasn't died when my mortal form did.

From what I have read, the astral realm operates with the speed of thought ... if you will. It is considered a realm that evolves as it encompassed by you and you by it. Meaning as you are on the plane, what you think, happens. This of course has a direct relationship with your vibration because there are different astral realms separated by different vibrational states. This is something that Robert A Monroe discussed in his book Journey's out of the Body. But I digress... But from a time standpoint, my interpretation is that it is all relative and governed my you.
