I second what truckingon said, glucosamine and condroitine helped a cat with severe arthritis that I had. It helped my grandma as well. It is usually put in food for elderly animals

I found some joint formula from an online pet store. I am going to send away for it. Meanwhile, I have been rubbing his legs with DMSO, and it seems to have eased up the pain some.
