Yes. It might help to look into and learn about the chakras/chakral points if you aren't aware of them already. When you consider the heart as an energy point, it's easy to extend that energy with the right direction and engage in a heart-centered exchange.

What if you're naturally compassionate with spirits?
I always treat my spirits as if they never died (which is probably why I constantly worry about them)

Of course you can talk to spirits with your heart I believe that will be a lot easier because then they can feel your emotions coming through as well
