I would imagine mostly people in the military today who die in combat or civilian ‘heroes’ that sacrifice themselves but interested to see thoughts?

I would imagine Valhalla was a little truer to Midgard rather than earth but yes, certainly. However people that die in the military aren't heroes.

I don't think so, in order to get to Valhalla you'd need to be dedicated to Norse gods, particularly Odin. And die in battle, an be a man of course, I don't think women are accepted there. Since today's people are most often followers of the Abrahamic religions, I don't think they'd be eagerly greeted in Valhalla.

I think that in order to end up in Valhalla you’d probably have to have some specific connection to that particular afterlife—you’d need to believe in it or be aiming for it, for example—on top of worthiness requirements.

The mythology is a bit unclear, perhaps it might be possible for a particularly distinguished woman, hand-picked by Odin to enter Valhalla but is was a very masculine place. I would say warrior women were far more likely to end up in Fólkvangr.

It just shows that norse mythology is indeed unclear and there are many things we still dont know about them but im telling you my Einherjar is a female and she resides in valhalla and i am 100% sure she is not the only female living there.

Same here-I find Norse Mythology a bit confusing regarding Valhalla! Although I tend to think anyone to be considered a hero must be true in nature like fight for the greater good-not for greed purposes! But what do I know-only an opinion-I guess it seems like heroes are a dime a dozen these days!
