There are parts of your post I agree with, Fireshadow. I would particularly emphasize building a relationship based on respect. In most polytheistic traditions, this is traditionally done through expressions of reciprocity. Hellenism features a particularly strong emphasis on reciprocity, so that’s a very good focus in approaching Artemis.

As for whether the Gods and Godesses are dangerous, perhaps it is better to say that they are not safe rather than outright dangerous. In that emphasis there’s less fear and more respect. Either way, we should keep in mind their nature, power, and autonomy (http://www.patheos.com/blogs/johnbecket ... -safe.html). We should comb their stories for times when They became dangerous and from them learn about who They are and what They value and what They hate. We have several stories to sift through for Artemis (http://www.theoi.com/Olympios/ArtemisWrath.html) and some strong themes to guide our interactions with her (http://www.patheos.com/blogs/keepingher ... the-heart/).

Can we become close friends with the Gods and Godesses? Yes. Should each individual human count on falling into such a friendship easily? No. Just like with humans—or, perhaps more aptly, just as with a regular human approaching another, more powerful human. Each powerful individual has their own personality and preferences, and different ones will welcome or reject different levels of familiarity from different approaching individuals. Therefore, at the outset, it is safest, most respectful and most beneficial to the human to (1) make the initial approach with great deference and (2) be prepared to ask themselves, “What am I prepared to offer/do?”

If you aproch them that may be but it doesn't seem to work that way when they aproch you.Though they have no problem showing their intentions. So you should have respect for them but you would probably know off the back how they view you.Cores like stated by alys,

the pantheon seems to play a part as well and may effect quit a bit of your interactions.Like for me the greek goddesses and dark mothers(It's not a pantheon but its a catagory that works like one considering)are ones I have affinity to and am on good terms with, even though I don't really have any good reason to be so but thats what they say and they say its not going to change so I don't seem to have a say in the disition making. But they, espeshaly kali and athena, say I should steer clear of any aesir(don't know if its spelled right)deitys given my nature and givin how oden showed up with a glare one time the instent I menchened how he was retarded based off a bit of mythology I heard about him its not hard to see why. They don't take kindly to a honest statment where I call athena a b!@ch for the same reason before interacting with her and she asured me she had no grudges or anger tord me for it at the time.

Like I said, they could make my life a even worse hell if they wished and I would understand why but they don't.And for right now I should be sparing with interactions with the lovecraft goddesses(can't remember the technicale name or spelling at the moment)saying that at this point I'm garenteed to go insain and psychotic if I get a taste of their true energy which shub nigirwath agrees with saying at one point that if I couldn't handle her saverly diluted energy at the point it was at she wouldn't even try interacting with me.So yeah it can depend a lot on the individual level.Thats all I have to add since I haven't interacted with artemis enough to have a good say on her.but I feel it be worth saying one last thing since fireshadow brout up comparesen to how she is.Athenas more of a yu-gi-oh or magic player if not a gamer with the more strategy based games. The more strategising and calculating their is the more she likes it along with having a little skill involved.Chess seems to simple and limited for someone like her in my opinion. That or she's coaching the strategies to others.I'll leave it at that.

blessed be
