Banishing unbound from an object?

Some weirdo unbound has attached itself to an object and I would like to have it gone. Any suggestions for banishing it and keeping it out would be great.

I've heard that putting an object into prayed over water that contains sea salt or Tibetan salt and then putting the whole thing outside under the moonlight for a couple of nights could banish an entity from an object. WIth Tibetan salt I've had interesting experiences, but maybe it's just another myth.
