Maybe don’t use fire if you can’t control it
Fire doesn’t need to burn. Fire can be used to heal and cleanse as well. It’s all about your intentions As far as magIck goes.

I have always liked the idea that naming something gives it power.
I feel it does give it noticeable power. it's like a personal enchant for me, especially if it's clever, funny or I can feel the energy of the words.

And back to the fire thing: What I'm saying is, that I feel the fire element is useless for fights as a white arts practitioner, because it can only overheat or burn in a variety of intensities. Well maybe make it so hot, that your opponent can't fight properly anymore. But 1. this is a waste of energy and 2. it is a kind of hurt/unpleasantness inflicted, too.
Maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist here, but my goal is not only to win the fight, but a pleasant outcome for me, the opponent and even those who might watch. And in the end, all relax and have a laugh. Or at the least, the aggressor goes home thinking about his life choices in a good way. haha xD

Referencing elemental magic as something to use in a physical fight is so over the top. This isn't Harry Potter or Doctor Strange. I just can't take that part of this conversation seriously.

why not? If someone isn't the type that likes physical brawling, magic is a great substitute. I understand both approaches. For playfull people, it can bring fun into fights even.

Wait, we are all talking about astral magic, right? If not then you're totally right, haha. xD

Indifference or 'pure pacifism and not fighting' in the face of something can be equally as evil as fighting for the wrong reasons, something to remember. 'Fight' is a thing that can be divided into good and bad. If something bad happens and you are passive despite being able to do something, that can make you part of the problem or the evil itself.

Unless doing something means something bad happens to you. Self-preservation and survival does not make a person evil. 0:)
