Hi all,

I was wondering: does the LBRP harm or banish the spirits in your keep, or make communicating with them more difficult?

If so, how does one exempt them from the power of the ritual?

I haven't used LBRP, but I've never had a banishing affect anything related to my spirit family.

Yes, I have read here on this forum very clear and confident posts from other longterm members who said the same thing - that the LBRP doesn't affect our bound spirits. I understand its main use was as a clearing, protective, positive rite that Golden Dawn neophytes could use before they progressed through the levels.

I've not heard the same reassurance about the Lesser Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram (LIRP), which apparently was originally the clearing / banishing ritual prescribed by the early Golden Dawn for neophytes, before Israel Regardie re-organised things and substituted the LBRP for that purpose. (I got that from a very authoritatively written post by a long term member on here earlier this month.)

So, this isn’t like an ancient grimoire quality source, but looking through this post’s section on banishing rituals (http://www.witchipedia.com/def:banishing) leads metro believe that, not altogether surprisingly, the intent is the key to who/what gets banished.

As Alys said, making it your intent to banish things other than your spirits can be done. From CH's encyclopedia, it states that their bindings are protected from banishing/cleansing spells already. https://www.creepyhollows.com/faq/index ... artlang=en

46 CH Spirits/Entities; 33 non-CH Spirits/Entities, and work with various other self-bound and unbound beings.
