It can be different based on the person, or the type of meditation.

Some may hear or see or feel (or smell or taste) something, some may get pulled to lucid dream or astral travel, some may not experience anything, etc etc.

Late to this post but, it depends on how deep into meditation I am. Sometimes it's just a quiet hanging out with my spirits where I feel their energy and they feel mine.

Other times I astral project with them which can turn into really great experiences. I have dragon spirits so this can translate to hanging out with them on some grass, swimming with them, and on the very few occasions riding with them - which one time was so vivid, it startled me back into reality. :daze: lol Swimming with a dragon is crazy though kinda forget how big they are until you see them from above :o

I can tell when I haven't meditated for a while though it takes so much longer to get into that same headspace. So I def should be doing it more often to make it easier on all of us.

I am still learning and growing with my meditation practice. I found out the name of one of my spirit guides who showed up being transported by what looked to be a golden chair on a platform. She was dressed all in white and all I asked was her name. She told me quickly but said that I needed to come out of the meditation as my son was coming down the stairs. It was a very vivid moment and almost like a breakthrough for me when I had this happen. Other times when I AP, my Kitsune brings me to a cabin that he called our sacred space. There's always a warm fire lit in the fireplace and a separate large room full of books and crystals. He always reminds me that when I want to work with magic to come to this place and he'll be there with me. He also creates such vivid memories of this place that it's hard to ignore that they happened. My dragons also congregate in large fields of grass with mountains and trees in the outskirts. This is where I am able to see them in so much more detail. As I've only recently had other manifestations from my silver dragon shifter, I love being able to see them all in the fields as well.

In meditation I feel more grounded to the earth, I feel my body is still there. With AP I'm not really aware of my body (sort of like when you are having a lucid dream) and just go wherever my companions will take me.

Hello,
This is a nice topic, missed my eyes somehow. In all honesty, I am still not there yet, in terms of communicating with my keeps. I do meditate once a while with my keeps in mind. I do not get anything out of it, so far. So it is still like that even now. But who knows, one day things will change. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I used to meditate quietly like, empty your mind, absolute empty. When you get into this, "this space doesn't seems affecting me anymore", my fox sister response me with scratching, you know when you ask for touches or scratches they used not to do that immediately but maybe hours or days later I wonder why.

This happened like a couple of times, but sometimes you get the feel of meditation but sometimes not, I'm frustrated.

I don't meditate just to meditate. When I ground and centre, when I try to connect with my spirits, it becomes a meditation, because I will need to be mindful. I find it easier to slip into the zone when there is a goal.

Vibrations I don't always feel unless intentionally. Sometimes I see visions, hear voices, feel touches, sometimes I see places, a bit like remote viewing. It depends on what kind of purpose I have in mind.

I don't think there is a "what you're supposed to feel" when it comes to meditation because as long as you remain mindful and "in the moment" it is meditation.

What Sooty says is important, mindfulness is the most important aspect of anything that you do. Meditation is used to help balance the mind and body to help promote mindfulness in other areas of your life.

That's why, meditation is highly personal. It should be tailored to the individual. This means finding your own rituals, things that fill you up and make you feel good. Make it a daily habit to seek this out and enjoy it.
