My forth grade teacher would have us jump up and down and say"rabbit day" on the first of every month. I believe this was for good luck. Has anyone heard of this tradition and where it comes from?

I've heard that if you say 'Hares' as the last thing before you go to bed on the last day of the month and 'Rabbits' as the first thing you say ont he first of the month it's good luck. I think I read it in a book (just a fiction novel) when I was a kid..

I've never managed to remember to do both.
