༻✧ Sleep Paralysis and OBE's ✧༺

Postby chemtrailchild » Tue Mar 24, 2020 3:25 am

I've experienced sleep paralysis since I was 11. In more recent years, I haven't as much as I used to due to methods I found to avoid it. I developed the ability over time to quickly and strongly react to dismantling the sleep paralysis the second it starts up. I can't stand the feeling of losing my ability to move a muscle and fear if I give in I will get locked into the blackness and experience a death in my sleep. (I know it's said that you can't die from sleep paralysis, but it's easier said than done to shake the feeling that you won't die when your ability to breathe gets extremely hard and your body feels like it's shutting down.)

Every time I've researched about inducing OBE's and Astral Projection, I've come across a lot about inducing sleep paralysis as one of the methods. Makes me think if I've prevented myself from projecting many times due to my fear of sleep paralysis.

Has anyone given in? Let themselves sink/blackout when experiencing sleep paralysis -- and experienced Astral Projection?

{Also, does anyone have tips unique to yourselves on how to induce sleep paralysis?}

Thank you

I used to do the same thing, the few times when I would "wake up" in sleep paralysis and be unable to move, fear would sink in right away as I had no idea what was going on at the time.

Now it's been a long time since I've been in that state. I'm trying to get deeper and deeper into meditation states but it's just not the same.

I feel the same way in regards to trying to get into deep meditative states. It does not substitute, and I usually just end up falling asleep or laying on my back for a long time with no results.

Same I'm usually just feeling my body get heavy, and sometimes I will just pass out.

Have you ever passed out from sleep paralysis?

No, I've only been in sleep paralysis a few times when I've woken up from realizing I am asleep and dreaming.

I find it so frustrating to induce I had to move onto other methods. Nothing like choking down your own saliva for a half hour and then screwing the whole thing up with an involuntary twitch.

On paper it seems ideal though. More power to any that can pull it off

I deal alot with twitching, I've even gotten to the point I can sometimes choose how to make it work when it goes off. And I can often surge mentally into a wall during sleep paralysis. The tactic I use to get through this is a little hard to explain, but I managed to set a couple of anchor points, kinda like being in a ping ball machine. And at the same time I'll distract myself into two different directions, using each point, back and forth to get through some obstacles more unknown. By switching so much I can eventually settle in a state I'm more comfortable with.

Have you ever "passed out" or blacked because of sleep paralysis?

Yes. Mostly when I was younger. It's rare that it would happen now. I suspect I entered some deeper state of mind. I can't say for sure. I got it alot at the time and now I'm, I guess you could say, in two places. Here and there when it occurs. Unless I'm caught off guard.
