Your favorite spirit to work with: Any, really.
If I could be anything, I would be...: Jen
My super power would be...: Read other's minds
My magical/paranormal name...: N/A

I just got my package a week ago which contain my Watcher and so far, he's pretty quiet. I could feel his energy every time I touch the pendant, so I know he's in there. But I have a few about Watchers, especially the ones from Lisa.

1. Can they read mind? Like, can they read your thoughts or something? Because I was reading about how Djinn know what you're thinking about so does that applied to Watchers as well?

2. Can they get annoyed? I tend to talk to the pendant a lot, like 24/7, and i'm not sure if he got sick of me or not.

3. Last but not least, do Lisa Watcher (not) like Gregori Watcher? Or is it a calling?
This is something I experience while looking at the penny deal that is a one time deal for new spirit keeper in the Creepy Hollow Shop. I noticed while I was scrolling through the options I saw the Gregori Watcher in the list. I wasn't planning to get that one, but then I felt something strange. I just have a weird feeling throughout my body while looking at the name. Along with that, I suddenly have a small headache. Of course, I thought I didn't drink enough water or something so I shook it off. But I noticed that I don't have that weird feeling with the other Watchers in the list. Even the Dark Art one didn't give me any feelings. I looked at the other spirits in the list, too, to see if I get that feeling again. But I felt nothing. It was just that one in particular. Every time I looked at that, the feeling return. I assumed it was coming from my Watcher. Or it could be a calling, but I'm not sure since there was no pictures or anything to see them. What do you think?

My super power would be...: See spirits in true form

Greetings!
1. It depends on what you mean by "read minds". If you mean mentally projecting thoughts to share with them, like telepathy, or being open to naturally sharing what's on your mind, then yes. But no, they can't simply just "open your mind and read it" like one would a book, minds are much more complicated than that.
2. It can vary from individual to individual, but you'll find on average that astral entities and spirits are way more patient than the average human. =P We get all worked up about our mortality, they often have lifetimes longer than us, and not the same sort of everyday problems, especially the ones you'll meet from conjuring/bonds such as these. Perhaps the interaction is refreshing for them. You could, alternatively, ask via pendant or another medium that works for you, to ask your Watcher friend there.
3. Not something I have personal experience with, so I am not sure if there's any issue. But again, I'd say a potential solution - ask them!

Take care~

The whole issue about spirits reading us is fascinating. Like other things there is variation, as far as I can tell. Telepathy and reading our energy seems standard. But there must be a reason why only some spirits are described as knowing what we want almost before we do. I've occasionally heard one spirit ask another "what did he say"? And it feels like sometimes I can beam a thought tightly to just one of them. Also I think our spirits will respect boundaries / be respectful and not pry when it seems inappropriate. And what about us - our shifting thought patterns? How can a spirit know which of our passing thoughts is the one that needs to be heeded? So I assume that I do need to express intentions and requests clearly.

Lisa's Watchers (I have 2) are excellent but I'd say we still benefit from talking to them, either mentally or physically, as with a friend.

2. Can they get annoyed? I tend to talk to the pendant a lot, like 24/7, and i'm not sure if he got sick of me or not.

Lisa' s Watchers are a particular kind of spirit she conjures that are entirely light natured. I don't believe they are moody. In fact I believe they are extremely benevolent, patient and tolerant with their keeper.

We tend to project a lot of our insecurities and fears on our spirits. It's better to ease off on ourselves, realise they are here to be our friends, companions and helpers - give ourselves some credit. [topic59226.html see #8 & #9]

Lisa's Watchers are a different kind of spirit entirely from the Watchers in the CH Shop.

There are 2 main types of Watcher from Creepy Hollows. #1 are the Gregori Watchers, who are sexual/lustful and Dark Arts. #2 are the Tower Watchers, who are White Arts. These are both very different types of spirit. See

https://www.creepyhollows.com/faq/index ... on_id=2034

Lisa's Watchers are completely different from Gregori Watchers and are also different from Tower Watchers. Lisa's Watchers are not sexual for one thing.

The symptoms you describe sound like Dark Arts acclimation symptoms. This makes me think you could have been looking at a listing for a Gregori Watcher and that spirit or spirit type may be darker in energy than you yourself are, which can trigger acclimation symptoms like headaches. Lisa's Watchers do not actively dislike Dark Arts spirits or sexual spirits - she conjures plenty of those herself.

I wouldn't normally think of a headache as being a good indication of a calling. A calling would be more of a clear, so-called gut feeling.

Thanks for your guys response! I'm happy to know that they respected our privacy and a bit patient with us. But I'm not sure about the Dark Arts acclimation symptoms, Lewk. Not that I don't agreed, it's just that I looked at other Dark Art spirits like the Wraith, Incubus, Vampire, etc., and none of them give me any sort of reaction. The only one that give me a feeling is the Gregori Watcher. So that's why I'm confused. Does it have to do with my personality or something? I'm an pretty nice person in real life, but my friend would say my humor is pretty dark and that at time she feel like I have no empathy for everyone, mostly because of my monotone voice and my poker face.

Another question popped up in my head while I was writing this: If I was generally a dark person to begin with, would it affect our spirits if they were light? Since my Watcher is of a light nature, I'm worried he might be a bit affected by my energy.

I'm mainly a WA/light natured spirits keeper but I have a fair few grey/neutral and lighter DA, plus some darker ones.

Based on what I've read in CH books and on this forum, it's absolutely fine for a DA keeper to have some WA/light natured spirits and vice versa. The recommendation from ASH has been to not get DA spirits that are darker than we are. Custom conjuring, such as is done by CH, helps as the individual spirit that is conjured is matched to the keeper's energy.

I had my worst DA acclimation symptoms from a preconjure that I'm pretty sure was darker than me. I've had no symptoms from one that is probably darker than me but custom conjured. I think uncertainty, doubt, slight anxiety can also set up a weird energy loop with a DA spirit, which is basically self generated. Also if a DA spirit is not yet in our keep, I suspect we can't yet ask them to tone symptoms down (which we can if they are).

Oh, ok. Thanks. So would it be wise to not get DA until I'm more experience? I'm still a bit of a newbie.

You can still get DA spirits, especially if you're very interested in them. For example, say you want a vampire of some type. Some vampires will be very, very dark, they'll need a lot of experience. Some vampires are more on the lighter end of the DA spectrum. I've got 5 vampires and they're all over the spectrum from what I've noticed about them. I got a vampire when I was relatively new to spirit keeping and it was fine.

If you want to get a DA, I would just go for a custom conjure. What CH will do is they'll match you up with the best spirit - so, imo, you can't really go wrong. If you're concerned about the spirit being too dark, just mention that into the notes. Obviously some species will be a bit darker than others. Gargoyles are a good beginner DA spirit (I don't have one, but I've seen them recommended everywhere, even by Magnolia).

If you have an interest, go for it! Just know your limits and know what you can take~

I agree with featheredstar.

In the CH book on DA it suggests that WA keepers or DA beginners can start off with those spirits on the lighter side (ie grey). Gargoyles and Psy Vampires were mentioned as being in that category. (There must be quite a few others.)

You can ask CH about this before you order, or in the order notes.

Gotcha. Thanks! I was not sure because I read a lot of posts about how new spirit keeper should start with WA or protective spirits before DA. I was actually planning on getting either a gargoyle or a dragon once I get the money. I'm not that interested in vampires but let's see.

And oddly enough, I kind of want a gregori watcher. I don't know why. Even though I have a weird feeling from them, I kind of like more protective spirits. Speaking of watcher, I just figured out where the headache came from. I forgot that I kind of told my watcher if he want to say no, give me a headache. Because I can't really talk to him yet as I'm still learning how to. But now I understand why every time I ask him about something, headache happen. I should probably buy a pendulum later.
