I always used ginger for cough, sinus & stomach problem as a remedy, very effective. Just cut those ginger to smaller bits then boil in kettle. No other add-on because I like it pure and strong.

This isn't terribly magickal, but it IS magical: I use a mixture of bourbon, lemon juice and honey as a nighttime cough syrup. Boy. Does it work!

ive been experimenting with tea's a bit and ive been making as of the beginning of this year my own healing teas and i have two mixes that i've been working on one is really good for like the beginning of a cold i took bagged tea and mixed all together
2 individual bagged black tea
3 individual bagged chamomile tea
3 individual bagged lemon and ginger tea
2 individual bagged peppermint tea
3 individual bagged earl grey tea
4 teaspoons of loose leaf lemongrass tea
4 teaspoons of loose leaf chamomile flower tea
5 teaspoons of loose leaf spiced chi tea
i have this mix already set and done and i've brewed it many, many times for minor aches and pains and the lemon and ginger helps with stomach pains of any kind peppermint for a more deeper calming of nerve twitches and or pains and chamomile and extra whole flower chamomile to add in a deep sense of relaxation and the spiced chi not only to help out with taste in the tea but also to bring out more of the herbs in the chi and black and early grey as the base or body to build around the tea mixture
i hope you enjoy this tea i hope it helps you out in so many ways if you make this and brew it please i beg you not use sugar or sugar substitute (if you not diabetic) please use honey cause honey will not only sweeten the tea but will also help with irritation or a sore throat while you drink the tea

Here's a recipe that the locals here do to treat cough.
a pot of water
a few honey dates
some mexican mint leaves/indian borage
boil the honey dates for around 15 minutes, then steep the leaves into honey dates water for a minute or so. ready to serve.
if for two persons, 2 honey dates is enough for a small pot of water where each just have a cup to drink.
if don't have honey dates, just steep the leaves in hot water like tea.
